How Do I Book Demos With Cold Email?
A step-by-step recipe for booking demos with cold email in Revnu. Tell it who buys, connect Gmail or Outlook, give it your booking link and approve the first sequence. What to send Revnu, what you approve, what you'll see and when replies arrive.
Tell Revnu who buys from you, connect your Gmail or Outlook, and approve the first sequence. Revnu finds the buyers, writes the emails, sends them from your inbox, follows up, and drafts an answer with your booking link when someone replies.
You need a Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox to send from (or Revnu can buy sending inboxes for you), your booking link, such as a Calendly or Cal.com page, and about 15 minutes.
Step by step
Check who Revnu thinks your buyer is
Open Settings > Memory and find the Who We Sell To section. Your answers from sign-up are there. If the buyer is wrong or vague, fix it and press Save. Revnu reads it every time it looks for leads. See Memory.
Tell Revnu who to find
Press Find New Leads on the Leads page, or describe the buyer in chat. The narrower, the better:
find 30 heads of operations at uk freight forwarders with 20 to 200 staff. leave out anyone we already work with
The first five leads arrive within minutes. A longer list fills in the background, and Revnu tells you when it's done. Each lead has a checked work email and a reason it fits. For more on describing a buyer, see find leads in a niche market.
Connect a mailbox to send from
Open Connections > Reach People and press Connect on the Gmail row or the Outlook row. Sign in and allow access. The row then says Connected as and your address. See connect Gmail or Outlook.
On Pro, Revnu sends up to 50 emails a day and 20 an hour from each mailbox you connect.
Keep cold email off your main domain
Say "buy me some sending inboxes instead". Revnu proposes lookalike domains, and buying them waits for your yes because it spends money. Bought inboxes warm up for days to weeks before they send.
Give Revnu your booking link
my booking link is calendly.com/sam/30min. use it whenever someone wants to talk
Revnu puts it in the reply drafts. Booking links always wait for your approval.
Check the first sequence and approve it
Your first sequence always waits for your yes. Open Leads and pick the campaign from the dropdown at the top left (it says All Leads until you pick one). Then press the N Steps pill next to it. It says Needs Approval. Read the steps.
If the copy isn't right, say what's wrong in plain words:
"too long. three sentences, then the ask"
"sounds like a robot. write it like i'd text a founder i met once"
"add two follow-ups a few days apart"
When you're happy, press Approve, or say "approved" in chat.
Watch it go out
On Leads, people move from Drafted to Sending to Sent. Emails from your own inbox leave within minutes of approval. Ask any time: "how many emails went out today?"
Answer the replies
When someone replies, their follow-ups stop. Revnu tells you and drafts an answer with your booking link. The answer waits in Review until you send it. The full recipe is handle replies and book calls.
Note
For the first 30 minutes after you connect your first mailbox, emails Revnu sends without your one-by-one approval wait. That gives you time to say stop.
Will later sequences ask me first too?
On Pro, no. Later sequences go live without asking, because Start Sequences starts on Just Do It. Change that in Settings > Agent. See what Revnu asks before it acts.
What to expect, and when
In the first hour: a first batch of leads and a draft sequence.
The same day: the first emails, once a mailbox is connected and you've approved the sequence.
Over the following days: replies. Most answers come over days and follow-ups, not hours. For one real first week, read how Soljio got its first interested buyer 18 hours after sign-up. That was quick.
Every Monday: a short roll-up with replies against last week.
When a sequence loses: Revnu tests a replacement on a small batch of new prospects, inside the Experiment Budget in Settings > Agent.
Revnu can't promise a number of demos. That depends on your market, your offer and who answers.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The pill says Needs Approval | Your first sequence, or a rewrite of it, is waiting. Read it and approve |
| The pill says Needs an Inbox | Nothing is connected to send from. Connect Gmail or Outlook |
| Your mail is on IONOS or Hostinger | It can't connect. Let Revnu buy sending inboxes, or start on LinkedIn |
| Fewer emails went out than you expected | Ask "how many went out today, and why not more?" Usual reasons are leads still being researched, a mailbox at its limit, or addresses that failed the check. See why aren't my emails sending? |
| The leads are the wrong people | Fix Who We Sell To, and mark bad leads Not a Fit from their status menu on Leads |
| Something went out you didn't want | Say "pause". Revnu cancels what's waiting and tells you what already went. See pause or stop everything |
