Daily Updates and the Monday Report
When Revnu messages you with results, how to get a message every morning even when nothing changed, how to change or turn off the daily update, where to check replies, and what the trial-end recap covers.
Revnu reports to you on its own. It sends a short daily update when something changed, a weekly roll-up every Monday, and usually a short note when a prospect replies. Each arrives where you talk to Revnu: Slack, iMessage or the dashboard chat. For a message at a fixed time every day, whether or not anything changed, set up a workflow.
How do I get a message every morning, even when nothing changed?
Set it up as a workflow. It runs at that time every day and reports whether or not anything moved.
Ask Revnu for it
Copy this to Revnu, and change the time and channel to suit you:
Every day at 7am, text me how many emails went out yesterday and who replied.
Check the schedule it confirms
Revnu sets it up as a workflow and confirms the schedule back to you.
Find it under Workflows
Click Workflows in the dashboard sidebar. The workflow shows its schedule and steps. Run Now runs it once straight away, and Pause stops it.
Note
A workflow report is separate from the daily update. Turning the daily update off doesn't stop it, and pausing the workflow doesn't touch the daily update.
The daily update
Revnu works on your account once a day at your check-in time. After that work, it sends one short update if something changed: something went live, a number moved, a test lost and Revnu drafted its replacement, or something is waiting on you.
If nothing changed, you hear nothing that day. Revnu still did that day's work. It just had nothing new to tell you. If you'd rather hear something every day, use the workflow above.
The check-in is at 10am in your account's time zone unless you change it (Pacific time if Revnu doesn't know yours).
Change the time or turn it off
Find the Daily check-in row
On Home, find the What I'm doing panel (click its heading if it's closed). The Daily check-in row is in it.
Pick a new time or turn it off
Click Change Time and pick an hour, or click Turn Off the Daily Update.
Or just ask: "Move my daily update to 7am" or "Stop the daily update." You can also tell Revnu your time zone.
Turning the update off doesn't stop the work. Revnu still works every day. It only messages you for something that needs you now, such as a blocker only you can clear. It also stops the Monday roll-up. Any workflow reports you set up carry on.
The Monday report
Once a week, on Monday at your check-in time, the daily update becomes the weekly roll-up. It always goes out while your daily update is on, even in a quiet week. It's a few lines:
One headline number against last week, such as replies up or flat
What went live this week, with a link to the best one
Anything that has been waiting on you
One offer of what to do next
If there are no measured numbers that week, the roll-up says what went live and what's waiting, without inventing a figure.
How do I know when a prospect replies?
Check Inbox on the dashboard first. Every reply lands there and in your own mailbox. You can also ask Revnu at any time: "Any replies since last Friday? Who were they?" It reads the live numbers, and asking costs nothing extra.
Revnu usually tells you as well, in one line: who replied and the gist. If the reply needs an answer, Revnu drafts one, and it always waits for your approval in Review. A flat no or an auto-reply gets no draft. Revnu updates the lead and stops there.
If you want the drafted reply pasted into the message itself, tell Revnu once and add it to Memory so it sticks. See Teach Revnu your business with Memory.
If replies came in and nobody told you, ask for them: "any replies since Monday? Who were they?" To make it stick, add a section such as "How to Report to Me" to your About file in Settings > Memory (titled with your business name) with the line "Tell me about every reply the day it arrives." See get help if it keeps happening. To get replies on a schedule instead, set up a workflow: "Every weekday at 9am, tell me who replied yesterday."
Get a count on your own schedule
The daily update tells you what changed. A workflow gives you the same few numbers at a fixed time. Ask in plain words:
"Every Monday at 9am, post sends and replies from last week in Slack."
"Every weekday at 7am, text me how many emails went out yesterday and who replied."
"Every day at 6pm, tell me how many LinkedIn invites were accepted today."
A workflow runs at most once a day, at a set time. More often than that, such as every 6 hours, isn't available. For two reports a day, set up two workflows at different times, or just ask "how many went out?" whenever you want.
Revnu creates the workflow and confirms the schedule back to you. It can report to Slack (your Revnu channel or another channel you name), iMessage or the dashboard. You'll find it under Workflows. Change it by asking in chat, or on the workflow's own page. More in Recurring work with workflows.
Can I get the reports by email?
Revnu reports in Slack, iMessage and the dashboard chat rather than by email.
The closest options:
Ask for shorter updates. Say "keep the daily update to three lines."
Use Home. The This Week numbers sit at the top of the dashboard. See what each number means.
Use Slack on your computer, if long messages are hard to read on a phone.
Developers can read the same numbers from the results API and send them anywhere, including your own email. See Pull results into reporting.
The trial-end recap
If you're on a free trial, Revnu sends one recap about four hours before it ends. It covers the whole trial:
What got done, as counts: emails sent, replies, LinkedIn invitations sent and accepted, leads saved, posts written, whichever apply
What's waiting on you, with a link, such as cards in Review or a connection to fix
What Revnu keeps doing next, and exactly when the trial ends in your time
A zero is said plainly. The recap doesn't ask you to pay.
There are two cases where no recap comes:
Your trial is paused waiting for you to add a card. Revnu isn't working then, so it can't send one.
Less than 30 minutes of the trial were left when the recap was due.
Either way, check Settings > Account for your trial end date and the Leads page for what went out. More in How the free trial works.
