Free Directory Listings

Revnu gets your business listed on the free directories, review sites and "best X" lists that AI answers cite. Which steps it does, which need you, and why it does no paid placements or backlink outreach.

Revnu submits your business to free directories, review sites and "submit your tool" forms. It starts with the pages AI answers already cite when they name your competitors and not you. It fills in each form in a real browser and hands you anything that needs your login or your money.

Why these listings matter

AI engines tend to name the businesses that the pages they cite name. If ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews answer "best invoicing tool" from three directories and you're on none of them, you're missing from the answer. Getting onto those pages is one of the fastest AEO and GEO wins there is. Visibility > AI Citations shows which sites the answers cite, grouped into Citation Categories. How AI engines choose what to cite explains why third-party pages carry so much weight.

Ask for it

  1. Ask Revnu in chat

Say: "get us listed on the directories AI answers cite." If you'd rather see the list first, say so: "show me which directories you'd submit to before you send anything."

  2. Read the summary it sends

Revnu sends one message listing what went in, what's pending review on the other side, and what's waiting on you.

  3. Do the steps that need you

For each step that's yours, Revnu sends the link and the exact copy to paste, field by field, in one message for the whole batch. What Revnu does and what needs you lists which steps those are.

Note

Free listings go in without asking you first. There's no approval switch for them in Settings > Agent. Anything that needs your money, your login or your identity comes to you instead.

Behind the scenes, Revnu:

  1. Reads which third-party pages are cited for your buyer questions, and which of them name competitors but not you.

  2. Opens each one and works out how a business gets listed there.

  3. Fills in the form using only what's in your Memory. It never makes up a fact.

  4. Submits it, reads the confirmation page, and keeps a screenshot as proof.

It keeps track of what it submitted so nothing goes in twice. It checks back later to see whether you now appear on those pages and in AI answers, and repeats every few days while there's a backlog, then about monthly.

Will I get the link to each listing?

Revnu tells you what went live. Many directories review submissions before they publish them, so a listing can take days to appear, and Revnu finds out when it checks back. Ask "send me the links to the listings that went live" any time for the addresses it has.

What Revnu does and what needs you

Kind of step Who does it
A free listing or a "submit your tool" form Revnu
A free account the listing needs Revnu, using your account email unless your Memory names another
A captcha it can't clear, a confirmation email, or a sign-in with your own Google, GitHub or LinkedIn You, for that one step. Revnu sends a live link to the open page, then finishes the form.
A paid or sponsored listing You. Revnu never pays.
Claiming a profile on a review site that checks you work at the company, such as G2, Capterra or Crunchbase You
A site that only allows personal accounts, such as Product Hunt, or a verification call You

If a form asks for something Revnu can't fill truthfully, like a phone number, it asks you once and carries on with the rest.

What is a G2 profile, and do I need one?

G2 is a website where people review business software, and AI answers often cite it when someone asks for the best tool in a category. A G2 profile is your product's page there: what it does, who it's for, screenshots and reviews. A basic profile is free.

G2 checks that the person claiming a profile works at the company, so claiming it is your step, not Revnu's. Capterra works the same way. Revnu tells you which of these sites AI answers cite for your buyers' questions, then sends you the link and the copy to paste into each field. Getting reviews is up to you and your customers.

Other review and listing sites, such as Trustpilot, follow the same split: Revnu does the free forms it can fill in, and hands you anything that checks who you are.

Visibility > Backlinks is a read-only report: who links to your site and how your link authority compares. Revnu doesn't do link outreach from it, and nothing there sends anything.

How Revnu keeps listings clean

  • You own the outreach. If a page is only reachable by asking a person, such as an editor or a list author, Revnu gives you the link and a ready pitch, and you decide whether to send it.

  • Free listings only. Paid and sponsored placements come to you to decide. Revnu never spends your money on a listing.

  • Real details only. Every field comes from your Memory or from you.
