Connect TikTok Ads

Connect TikTok Ads Manager so Revnu can run your own videos or creators' posts as Spark Ads. Which TikTok login to use, what Spark Ads need, the USD 20 a day minimum, and what to do when no ad account was shared.

You connect TikTok Ads from Connections. Sign in with the TikTok login that owns the ad account, and tick that ad account on TikTok's approval page. TikTok only shares the accounts you tick.

Revnu runs videos you already have, or creators' posts you hold Spark Ads codes for. It doesn't make TikTok videos.

Before you start

  • A TikTok Ads Manager account with an approved payment method.

  • Your TikTok account linked to the ad account as an identity, with ad authorization. You do this in TikTok Ads Manager or Business Center. Ads from your own videos post as that account.

  • At least one video: in the ad account's video library, at a public link you can send Revnu, or a creator's post with an ad authorization code.

How do I connect TikTok Ads?

  1. Open Connections

In the dashboard, open Connections and find the Advertise group.

  2. Press Connect on TikTok Ads

Press Connect on the TikTok Ads row.

  3. Sign in to TikTok

Use the TikTok login that owns or manages the ad account.

  4. Tick the ad account

On TikTok's page, tick the ad account you want Revnu to use, then approve. TikTok won't share an account you leave unticked.

  5. Choose the ad account

Back on Connections, the row says Revnu is looking for the ad accounts you authorized. If you ticked several, press Choose Account and pick one.

What do Spark Ads need?

Your own videos. Revnu uses a video already in your ad account's library, or uploads one from a public https link you send. The ad posts as your linked TikTok account, so that identity has to exist first. Vertical, sound on and a hook in the first two seconds work best. Revnu tells you plainly when none of your videos fit.

One of your own organic posts. To put money behind a post you already published, generate an ad authorization code for it in the TikTok app and paste the code to Revnu in chat. It works the same way as a creator's code below: the ad shows your post exactly as published, caption included.

A creator's posts. Ask the creator for ad authorization codes from the TikTok app and paste them to Revnu in chat, up to 20 at a time. The ad shows the post exactly as published, caption included, and runs as the creator's account, not yours. Revnu tells you the date each authorization ends. After that, TikTok stops serving the ad.

USD 20 a day per ad group. TikTok won't serve an ad group below USD 20 a day. An account in another currency, such as GBP or EUR, has its own floor set by TikTok, and TikTok refuses a lower budget; Revnu passes on TikTok's message. Four ads at once also need room in your monthly budget for TikTok's extra daily spend. Every channel's floor is in ad budgets.

What you'll see once it's connected

  • Revnu uses your account's TikTok Pixel, or creates one named "Revnu" if there's none, and sends your confirmed results to it from its servers. Nothing is installed on your site. If your account already has several Pixels, Revnu asks which one to use. TikTok only receives your first outcome.

  • TikTok bids for clicks until its Pixel has counted your result, so early on you'll see clicks and few conversions. Revnu offers a fresh draft that bids for your result once the Pixel has counted it.

  • If TikTok hasn't enabled Smart+ on your ad account, Revnu builds a Traffic campaign that bids for clicks. Your TikTok sales rep can enable Smart+. Revnu still counts every result either way.

  • On a Smart+ campaign the daily budget is a weekly average, so one day can spend up to 125% of it while the week stays on budget.

Tip

If your site also sends the same event to that Pixel from your own setup, TikTok's own report can count a result twice. Judge Revnu's campaigns on Revnu Conversions in Ads > Analytics.

Questions about TikTok Ads

Who can see the TikTok Ads row?

The account owner sees TikTok Ads in Connections > Advertise, next to Google, LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Microsoft. If you don't see it, refresh the page and check you're signed in to the business's own Revnu account. Still missing? Email support@revnu.com.

If it doesn't work

What you see What to do
"TikTok is connected, but no ad account was shared." Press Reconnect and tick the ad account on TikTok's page. An ad account created or assigned after you approved needs a fresh approval. Refresh checks again without reconnecting
Revnu says no identity is linked Link your TikTok account to the ad account with ad authorization in TikTok Ads Manager or Business Center
Revnu says TikTok can't reach the Pixel The Pixel sits in a Business Center the connection can't see. Share it with the ad account's Business Center using the steps Revnu sends. Drafts and launches still work, and results are held, then sent once TikTok accepts them
A creator's code is refused Expired, revoked and photo-carousel posts can't run. Ask the creator for a fresh code
