How Long Is the Free Trial, and When Am I Charged?
How Revnu's free day works, and how the sign-up screen and checkout show your exact offer before you pay. What you get if you pay today, why a card is asked, extra free days, the reminders before the end, and how to cancel.
Revnu's free trial is one free day: 24 hours from when you start. The sign-up screen and Stripe's checkout page show your exact offer before you pay anything.
After the trial, Pro is $99 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
Check your offer
On Put Revnu to Work, read the line above Start Your Free Trial and the line under it. Together they name your offer. Which trial do I have? explains each one.
If the button says Subscribe for and a price, there's no trial. See I was asked to pay today.
Save your card on Stripe
Press the button. Stripe's page repeats your offer next to its pay button, for example "$0 today. Free for 24 hours." Saving the card charges nothing on a free trial.
Note when the trial ends
Open Settings and choose Account (revnu.com/dashboard/settings?tab=account). The plan card says Free until a day and time, then your price. You can also ask Revnu in chat.
Cancel before then if it isn't for you
In Settings > Account, press Cancel Trial. You pay nothing. See Cancel your trial or plan.
Warning
Only Settings > Account cancels a trial or a plan. Telling Revnu to cancel in chat doesn't, and the first charge still runs.
Which trial do I have?
Read the lines above and under the button on the Put Revnu to Work screen:
| What the screen says | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Stripe asks for a card to start. $0 today." then "Free for 24 hours, then … a month" | A one-day free trial. You add a card at checkout and nothing is charged until the trial ends. |
| A box above the button: "First day free, plus up to 3 more" | A one-day free trial with a card, plus up to 3 more days you can earn. See How do I earn extra free trial days? |
| "No card needed to start." | A one-day free trial with no card at checkout. Revnu asks for a card when it needs one to keep working, and tells you when. |
| "Billed monthly, cancel anytime." | No trial. Checkout charges the first month today, at $99 on Pro, and checkout shows the exact amount. See I was asked to pay today. |
| "Free for 12 months, then … a month" and a Claim 12 Months Free button | An invite with free months. You add a card at checkout and nothing is charged for those months. |
Each customer gets one free trial. If your account has had one before, the screen says "This account has had a free trial before, so checkout starts the paid plan."
I was asked to pay today. What do I get?
Your offer starts straight on the paid plan, or this account has had a free trial before. The button said Subscribe for and a price, and the line under it said "Billed monthly, cancel anytime."
What's charged today. The first month, at $99 on Pro. Stripe's checkout page shows the exact amount before you pay. The plan renews on the same day each month.
Your first hour. Revnu reads your website and the facts you confirmed at sign-up, tells you the goal and the channel it's starting with, and does the first piece of work: a list of buyers and a draft email sequence, a blog post, or ads. Your first sequence waits for your yes before anything goes to a prospect. See Your first day.
Ad spend isn't in the price. The ad platforms bill your own ad account, never Revnu, and every budget waits for your approval.
If it doesn't fit. Cancel in Settings > Account and the next charge doesn't run. You keep using Revnu until the end of the month you paid for.
Refunds. Fees already billed aren't refunded, except where the law requires it. If you think you were charged by mistake, write to support@revnu.com. A person looks at each case.
Why does a free trial ask for my card?
So Revnu can keep working when the trial ends without stopping you to pay. "$0 today" means exactly that: Stripe saves the card, charges nothing at checkout, and makes the first charge only when the trial ends. Cancel before then in Settings > Account and you're never charged.
My bank asked me to approve the card
Some banks, Indian banks especially, ask you to approve the card in your banking app or with a code even though nothing is charged. That's the bank checking the card for later payments. Approve it, then switch back to the same browser tab. See Payment failed or card declined.
How do I earn extra free trial days?
If your sign-up screen said "First day free, plus up to 3 more", each of three connections adds one free day, up to 3 extra days. Your Home page shows a card saying "0 of 3 extra free days earned".
| Connect | Where | When the day counts |
|---|---|---|
| Your inbox | Connections > Reach People, Gmail or Outlook | Once your own mailbox is connected and able to send. Inboxes Revnu buys for you don't count. See Connect Gmail or Outlook. |
| Connections > Reach People | Once the LinkedIn connection is ready to send messages. See Connect LinkedIn. | |
| Your blog | Visibility > Posts | Once your site has loaded Revnu's posts with its Content API key, or your custom blog domain is live. Creating the key alone doesn't count. See Get Revnu's posts onto your site. |
Each connection earns its day once. Reconnecting, or adding a second mailbox, adds nothing more. The best case is a four-day trial: the first day plus three.
The day usually lands within a minute of the connection working. The Home card then says "Your trial ends" with the new day and time, and marks the connection "+1 Day Earned". Settings > Account shows the same end time after Free until. On Connections, a row that still earns a day carries a +1 Free Trial Day tag. The card disappears once there's nothing left to earn.
When can't I earn extra days?
After the trial has ended, after it's converted to the paid plan, or once you've pressed Cancel Trial.
On trials from invite links and the YC deal.
By asking. Only a working connection adds a day. Revnu can't add one from chat.
Why did Revnu pause and ask for a card?
On the trial that starts with no card, Revnu works until it has something to show you, then pauses until you add one. It pauses at whichever comes first:
A few minutes after it shows you its first result: a saved lead, a written blog post or a drafted email sequence
30 minutes into the trial, once it has replied to you
A full screen says Add Your Card to Keep Going. Nothing else on the dashboard works until you add a card, and messages to Revnu get a short reply saying it's waiting for one.
Press Add a Card. Adding it charges nothing now: the screen says "Your free trial carries on, and nothing is charged before it ends."
Save the card on the Stripe page.
You come back to the same page. Revnu picks up where it stopped straight away and tells you what it's doing next.
Is the free day lost? No, but it isn't extended either. Your trial keeps the end time it had when you signed up, and time spent paused counts towards it. Add the card soon to get the most from it.
If you never add a card, the trial ends at its end time, Revnu stops, and nothing is charged.
When is my first charge, and where do I see it?
The first charge happens when your trial ends. To see the exact time, open Settings and choose Account (revnu.com/dashboard/settings?tab=account). The plan card says Free until a day and time, then the price, for example "Free until Thursday 3:40 PM, then" and your monthly price.
You can also ask Revnu in chat when your trial ends.
Will I get a reminder before I'm charged?
Yes, in one of two ways, depending on your trial:
Every trial. About four hours before the trial ends, Revnu sends you a recap message wherever you talk to it: Slack, iMessage or the dashboard chat. Revnu writes it itself, so it covers what it did during the trial, what's waiting for you, and when the trial ends. You won't get one while Revnu is paused waiting for your card.
A trial that started without a card. Revnu also emails your sign-in address about six hours before the trial ends, asking you to add a card. It doesn't come if you've added a card or cancelled. Until you add one, the plan card in Settings > Account says "Add a card to keep Revnu working".
Note
On a trial with a card up front, the recap is the only reminder before the first charge. There's no reminder email. Note the end time in Settings > Account if you might cancel.
Can I get a longer trial?
Your offer sets the trial length when you sign up. Longer trials come through personal invite links (revnu.com/invite/…) that our team sends, giving 7, 14 or 30 days, or 12 free months. If you'd like longer to see replies come in, write to support@revnu.com and tell us what you want to test. We read every request.
Your first day is for setup: leads found, emails drafted, first sends queued. Replies usually follow over the next few days. See What results to expect, and when.
How do invite links work?
An invite changes only the length of the trial, or gives free months. The price afterwards is the same, and you cancel the same way, in Settings > Account, before the trial ends.
Open it before you sign up, or while signed in to the account you want it on. The sign-up and Stripe screens then show the invite's length, for example "First 14 days free" or Claim 12 Months Free.
It works on an account that has never paid, even if that account's trial already ended. It doesn't work on an account that has paid before.
Each link works once. Invite links have no expiry date. If yours doesn't work, write to support@revnu.com.
What will I have at the end of the trial?
After 24 hours, Revnu knows your business, you have a first list of researched buyers on Leads, and a drafted first sequence waits for your approval. With a mailbox connected and the sequence approved, the first emails have gone out. Replies usually take days. A blog post or paused ads can be ready too, if that's where Revnu started.
What Revnu has done shows up as it happens: leads on Leads, posts under Visibility > Posts, and anything waiting for you in Review. To see a sequence, open Leads, pick the campaign, then click the steps pill next to it (for example 3 Steps). See What results to expect, and when.
Tip
To get the most from a short trial, connect your own Gmail or Outlook early, in Connections > Reach People (Connect Gmail or Outlook). Revnu can't send email until something can send it. Then approve or answer what lands in Review: your first sequence always waits for your yes (What Revnu asks before it acts).
Add a card and Revnu can buy sending inboxes for you too.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Checkout closed before you finished | Nothing was charged. Go back to the dashboard and press the button again. On a phone, see Payment failed or card declined |
| You added a card but the screen still asks | Wait a few seconds for Stripe to confirm. If it says "Stripe hasn't confirmed your card yet", add it again |
| You connected something but no day was added | Check the connection on Connections shows as working, not Needs Reconnect. For the blog, load a page of your blog once so your site fetches the posts. If the Home card still hasn't ticked it after a few minutes, write to support@revnu.com |
| You were charged after asking Revnu to cancel | A message to Revnu doesn't cancel. Only Settings > Account does. Write to support@revnu.com about the charge. Refunds for mistakes are decided case by case. See Cancel your trial or plan |
