How Revnu Runs and Judges Your Ads
What ads Revnu makes on each channel, who it targets, how it tests ideas and judges them on real results instead of clicks, when it pauses a losing ad and why not sooner, how to swap in your own creative, and how it grows apps and runs video.
Revnu writes your ads, makes the images, builds each campaign paused in your own ad account and launches it when you approve. It judges every ad on the result you chose, such as a trial start or a booked call, not on clicks. It pauses an ad that is burning money once it has been live 3 days, and tells you why, with the numbers.
Which channels and formats does Revnu run?
| Channel | What Revnu builds |
|---|---|
| Google Ads | Search, Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns |
| Microsoft Ads | Search campaigns only |
| LinkedIn Ads | Image ads posted as your company page |
| X Ads | Image ads, up to five per campaign |
| Reddit Ads | A single-image promoted post in a conversions campaign |
| TikTok Ads | One in-feed video: your own, or a creator's Spark Ads post |
| Meta Ads | Facebook and Instagram, for pilot accounts only |
Revnu writes the copy and makes on-brand images. Each channel connects from Connections > Advertise, and each has a setup page: Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, X, Reddit and TikTok.
Tip
If you have a brand framework, such as rules for tone, colours or claims, put it in Memory. Revnu reads Memory every time it writes an ad.
Does Revnu run display, YouTube or video ads?
Revnu makes images, writes copy and runs video you already have. Google campaigns also reach YouTube and display:
Google display and YouTube. Performance Max and Demand Gen run on Google's own inventory: YouTube, Discover, Gmail and the Display network. On Performance Max, Google decides where each ad shows, and may make a simple video from your images itself.
A YouTube video you already own. Revnu can run it as a Demand Gen video campaign. It can't upload a new video to YouTube.
TikTok. Revnu runs a video from your TikTok ad account, one you send a link to, or a creator's post you hold a Spark Ads code for.
No third-party programmatic, regional or app-install networks. Revnu only buys on the channels in the table above.
How does Revnu target my ads?
Each platform targets differently, and Revnu uses what each one offers. Values always come from the platform's own lists, never guesses.
| Channel | Who Revnu targets | Locations |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search | People searching keywords Revnu picks, with negative keywords to cut wasted searches | Countries, states and cities from Google's list |
| Google Performance Max | Audience signals as hints; Google chooses who sees the ad | Same as Search |
| Google Demand Gen | Audiences from your Google Ads account, on the channels Revnu picks | Same as Search |
| Microsoft Ads | People searching keywords Revnu picks, using Google's keyword data when Google is connected | Microsoft's own location list |
| LinkedIn Ads | Job titles, seniorities, industries and companies, including a company list from your leads; it can exclude any of these | Countries |
| X Ads | Keywords, interests and follower audiences | Countries |
| Reddit Ads | Communities (subreddits), interests and keywords | Countries and regions |
| TikTok Ads | A broad audience, narrowed by age or gender only when the buyer clearly fits | Countries, provinces and cities |
| Meta Ads | Pilot only. See Meta ads |
Search ads show when someone types a query that matches, so they fit buyers who are looking for a fix right now. The other channels put your ad in front of people who fit a profile but aren't searching.
Which countries can my ads target?
Any country, region or city in the platform's own location list. Revnu adds no country list of its own.
Google campaigns can target any location in Google's list, which covers most countries, including India.
Microsoft campaigns use Microsoft's own location list. Ask Revnu to look up a place before you plan around it.
LinkedIn and X target whole countries.
Revnu buys on the platforms in the table above. Your ad account's currency is whatever you set up with the platform, and Revnu converts it for your monthly budget. See ad budgets.
How does Revnu test ads?
You approve a learning budget once: a total, a daily maximum and a length in days. See ad budgets.
Inside it, Revnu runs tests. Each test tries a genuinely different idea: a different buyer, problem, offer, format, search intent, landing page or channel. A new headline on the same idea doesn't count as a new test.
The idea with the best evidence gets most of the money. New ideas keep getting enough to learn.
When a test loses, Revnu retires it and starts a replacement the same day, inside the same budget. If Ad Tests is set to Ask Me First, it prepares the replacement paused and asks. On Pro, Ask Me First is the starting setting.
Revnu checks each test's budget before it builds. If a test can't plausibly reach your result in its run, Revnu says so and suggests fewer, better-funded tests.
Revnu sends ads to pages you already have. With GitHub connected, it can open a pull request that improves a page's copy for you to review.
What does Revnu judge my ads on?
On your first outcome, the result you set up first in Ads > Revnu Tag: a purchase, a trial start or a booked call. Clicks and click rates don't decide anything. See set up outcomes.
If your outcome is rare, such as a purchase on a free-trial product, a zero means little for a long time. Revnu will suggest counting sign-ups or trial starts first. You approve that change.
Each platform also learns on its own clock. Google, Reddit and TikTok can stay in learning for weeks when results are rare. Revnu tells you before you approve, and doesn't judge too early.
When does Revnu pause a losing ad?
For a campaign that isn't part of a test, Revnu pauses it on its own when all of these hold:
It has been live at least 3 days (Revnu can't pause on results alone any sooner)
Tracking works: clicks arrive as visits and your outcome is being reported
It spent twice your approved cost per result with none, or, with no target set, three days of its budget brought none
Ads in a test stop through the test's own review, all together, never one at a time.
Revnu sends you what it paused and the numbers, and a reply resumes it. It never resumes, relaunches or deletes on its own. You can pause any campaign yourself at any time from Ads.
Broken tracking or a rejected ad isn't a reason to pause. Revnu tells you what to fix instead.
Why didn't Revnu pause my ads sooner?
A zero only means something once the ad has had a fair chance, and with a rare outcome that takes money. A worked example:
Four TikTok ads at USD 20 a day each, TikTok's minimum.
The first outcome is Purchase and there's no target cost per result.
Each ad needs 3 days live and 3 days of its budget (USD 60) with no purchase before Revnu pauses it.
Together they can spend about USD 240 before the first pause.
Tip
With a rare first outcome, ads can spend several days of budget before Revnu can judge them. Set a sign-up or trial start as your first outcome before launching, especially on TikTok, where the minimum budget is high. Your Monthly Ads Budget still caps the total either way.
Can I swap in my own creative?
Yes. Attach the image in chat and say which campaign it's for. Revnu uses your image unchanged on LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Meta.
X. Revnu adds ads only to a paused campaign, at most five per campaign. That five-ad limit is Revnu's, not X's, so each ad gets enough budget to be judged. For a live X campaign, Revnu builds the new ad in a separate paused campaign, and launching that waits for your approval like any launch.
Reddit. Each of your images becomes its own campaign.
TikTok. Send a video link or a creator's Spark Ads code instead.
A swap never changes the budget. Adding or replacing an ad keeps the campaign's budget as it was. A new campaign, and any change to a budget, always waits for your approval.
Replace one ad in a full X campaign
When an X campaign already has five ads, a new one has to take an old one's place.
Pause the campaign
Revnu can't replace an ad in a live campaign. Pause it first, or ask Revnu to build the new ad in a separate paused campaign instead.
Say which ad goes
Name it in chat, for example "replace Static 3 with this image".
Let Revnu make the swap
The new ad goes in and the old one is taken off X. Targeting, landing page and budget stay as they were.
Approve the relaunch
Launching again waits for you, like any launch.
How does Revnu pick which ad to replace?
There's no fixed rule. You choose. If you don't name one, Revnu may suggest one, and when no ad has a result yet the only thing it can go on is early numbers such as click rate. Treat that as a suggestion, not a verdict, and name a different ad if you prefer.
That doesn't change how Revnu judges ads. Clicks never decide whether a campaign is paused, kept or given more money. Those calls rest on your outcome. Picking which ad makes room in a full campaign is a different, smaller choice, and it's yours.
Can Revnu tell me which of my own campaigns to scale or cut?
Yes, in chat. Ask, for example, "which of my Google campaigns should I scale or cut?". Revnu reads every campaign in your Google Ads account, including ones you built before Revnu, and gives one call per campaign: cut, keep or push, with the number behind it and how sure it is. It judges them on Google's own conversions.
The verdict is a chat message, not a card. A card in Review appears only when Revnu proposes a change, such as search terms to block, and it's named after that change.
Revnu changes nothing until you say yes. It can pause one of your Google campaigns on request, but you turn it back on in Google Ads. On Microsoft and Reddit it can read your own campaigns' numbers and breakdowns, but it can't change those campaigns. The full answer is in review the Google Ads campaigns you already run.
Ads > Analytics shows the campaigns Revnu runs, not your own. See read your ads results.
Can I make Google Ads my first channel instead of blog posts?
Yes. Tell Revnu, for example "start with Google Ads, not the blog". It works on the channel you ask for. In its first reply it writes the ads, asks you to connect your ad account and suggests a starting test budget. Three steps get you to the first paused campaign:
Set your Monthly Ads Budget and approve the draft.
Questions about what Revnu runs
Does Revnu run app-install ads?
Revnu sends app ads to your web sign-up or landing page and counts sign-ups as your outcome. App-install campaigns aren't part of it.
Can an agency run ads for several clients through Revnu?
Yes, with one Revnu account per client. Each Revnu account is one business, with its own plan, its own ad account connections and its own monthly ads budget, so each client's data stays separate. See can an agency use Revnu for clients.
