How Do I Find Leads in a Niche Market?

A step-by-step recipe for finding leads in a narrow B2B niche with Revnu. Describe the buyer in one message, block who to skip, and check the first leads. What to send Revnu, how long a list takes, and what to do when the list comes back short or wrong.

Describe your buyer in one message, as narrowly as you can. Revnu searches business data, reads each company's own site to check it fits, finds the right person and a checked work email, and saves every lead to Leads with the reason it fits.

What you need

  • A plain-words description of who buys: the kind of company, its size, the place, the job title you want, and any sign that a company needs you now.

  • Two or three example customers, if you have them.

  • A list of companies to leave out, such as current customers and competitors.

  • Optionally, a link to a public directory or members page that lists your niche.

Revnu finds businesses and the people who work at them. It can't find private individuals.

Step by step

  1. Check what Revnu already knows

Open Settings > Memory and find the Who We Sell To section. The Find New Leads button on Leads searches from what's written there. If it's vague, sharpen it and press Save. For a one-off search, describe the buyer in chat instead.

  2. Describe the buyer

Say the kind of company in words, not codes. Some asks that work:

find uk freight forwarders with 5 to 50 staff that handle air cargo. i want the owner or managing director. leave out the big global forwarders

find dental groups in texas with three or more locations. the person who runs operations

same as last week's batch, but skip anyone in germany

Add a signal if you know one, such as "prefer companies hiring a head of sales" or "raised money in the last year". Revnu reads industry codes such as SIC or NAICS as hints, not filters.

  3. Block who you don't want

Attach your customer list in the same message and say "add every company in this file to my block list". Or press Add Entries on the Block List in Settings > Agent and paste their domains. Revnu won't save anyone on it as a lead. See keep people off your outreach.

  4. Let it run

Revnu says what it's searching for and saves the first five leads within minutes. Ten or more companies run in the background while you keep chatting. To check progress, ask "how far along is the freight forwarders list?"

  5. Read the first leads

Open Leads and pick the campaign from the dropdown at the top left (it says All Leads until you pick one). Open a few leads and read why each one fits on their Signals tab. See what's on a lead.

If they're off, say so in one line:

    • "too many big companies. keep it under 50 staff"

    • "these are agencies, not in-house teams. drop them"

Mark any lead you don't want as Not a Fit from its status menu, and Revnu won't contact it.

  6. Decide what happens next

Finding leads sends nothing. To reach them, approve a sequence. Your first sequence always waits for your yes. The recipe is book demos with cold email.

Feed it a directory, if your niche has one

Paste the link to a public directory, member list or association page:

this is our trade association's members page. add every freight forwarder on it to leads

Revnu reads the page, then finds each company's website, the right person and an email in the background. If the page needs your login, Revnu hands that step to you. You can also export the list and upload the file.

What to expect, and when

  • Within minutes: the first five leads.

  • In the background: the rest of a long list. Revnu tells you when it's done. Bigger lists take longer.

  • A short list for small firms. Business data covers small firms less well than large ones, and the owner of a five-person firm often has no listed work email.

  • Some leads declined. When Revnu can't find a checked email, it may use the company's general address, such as hello@, or mark the lead Declined with the reason. Declined leads are on the Declined tab, not All.

If it doesn't work

What you see What to do
The list came back short Widen it: more places, more job titles, more company sizes. Or give Revnu a directory link
Leads from the wrong country Say "uk companies only" in the request, and add it to Who We Sell To so it sticks. A country rule in Memory is an instruction, not a hard block, so check the first leads
You can't find the list It sits under the campaign Revnu gave it. Pick it from the campaign dropdown on Leads
The leads are the wrong kind of company Your Memory is probably too broad. Rewrite Who We Sell To with what the right company does and what it isn't
Revnu read only part of a directory Ask "how many entries did you read, and how many are on the page?"
