How Do I Get a Weekly Growth Report for Me or My Investors?
A step-by-step recipe for a weekly growth report from Revnu. What the Monday roll-up already covers, how to set up a report with your own numbers at a fixed time, how to have Revnu draft your investor update, and how to ask for any period.
You already get a Monday roll-up while your daily update is on. For a report with your own numbers at a fixed time, describe it once in chat and Revnu sets it up as a workflow that posts to Slack, iMessage or the dashboard. For investors, have the workflow draft the update and forward it yourself.
What you need
Revnu set up where you talk to it: Slack, iMessage or the dashboard chat.
Channels running, so there's something to count: outreach, a blog, ads or tracked AI questions.
Your own figures for anything Revnu doesn't see, such as revenue. Revnu doesn't connect to your payment provider, bank, CRM or analytics tools.
What you get without asking
Every Monday at your check-in time, the daily update becomes the weekly roll-up:
One headline number against last week, such as replies
What went live this week
Anything that's been waiting on you
One offer of what to do next
On other days you hear from Revnu only when something changed. Move the time with "move my daily update to 7am". See daily updates and the Monday report.
Step by step
Tell Revnu what report you want
Describe it once, with the day, the time, the numbers and where it goes:
every monday at 9am, post last week's emails sent, replies, interested replies and who replied to #growth
Revnu sets it up as a workflow, confirms the schedule back to you, and posts at that time whether or not anything moved. It can post to your Revnu channel or another Slack channel you name, to iMessage, or to the dashboard. If it can't reach the place you named, it tells you which ones it can.
Have Revnu draft your investor update
Revnu doesn't send email, so ask it to write the update where you can copy it:
every friday at 4pm, draft my weekly investor update from this week's numbers: emails sent, replies, calls booked, posts published, search clicks and ad spend. five lines max. leave a blank line for revenue, i'll add it
Paste it into your email to investors and add your own figures. Revnu doesn't read your calendar, so tell it when calls happen, or mark the lead Meeting Booked on Leads.
Check the first run
Open Workflows in the dashboard and open the new workflow. You'll see the schedule, the steps in plain words and Reports to. Press Run Now to see a run within a minute without waiting for Monday. Your schedule carries on afterwards.
Change it in plain words
make the investor update fridays at 5pm and add linkedin invites accepted
Pause, resume or delete it on the same page. See recurring work with workflows.
Ask for any period
how did september go? replies, interested replies and search clicks, against august
Revnu reports measured numbers for any window up to 31 days at a time. For longer, ask month by month.
What to expect, and when
Every Monday: the roll-up, while your daily update is on. Quiet weeks still get one.
At the time you set: each workflow report, at most once a day.
Numbers Revnu measures: emails sent, replies and who replied, LinkedIn invites sent and accepted, posts published, Google clicks once Search Console is connected, AI visibility, and ad spend and results.
Numbers it doesn't: revenue, meetings it wasn't told about, and anything in tools Revnu doesn't connect to. LinkedIn numbers come as one total for the account, not per teammate.
No made-up zeros: a channel Revnu can't measure is left out or named as not tracked, not shown as 0.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No Monday roll-up came | Turning the daily update off also stops the roll-up. Say "turn my daily update back on". Workflow reports carry on either way |
| The workflow says Schedule needs attention | Rewrite it as days and a time, for example "fridays at 4pm" |
| You wanted it twice a day | A workflow runs at most once a day. Set up two at different times, or ask whenever you want the numbers |
| A run came back empty | Ask Revnu what happened on that run |
| You need the report in a spreadsheet or a dashboard | Revnu doesn't send files. A developer can pull the same numbers through the API. See pull results into reporting |
