Working With Revnu

Recurring Work With Workflows

Put your growth on autopilot with Workflows. Describe the work once, such as fresh leads every Monday or a blog post every weekday, and Revnu runs it on schedule.

A workflow is work Revnu does for you on a schedule, such as "every Monday, find companies that raised a seed round last week and draft intros". You create and change workflows by describing what you want in plain words. Every workflow on your account is listed under Workflows in the sidebar.

A workflow decides when Revnu does the work, not when email goes out. On Pro, email from your own Gmail or Outlook sends any day of the week, weekends included. To keep it to weekdays, see the weekdays section.

How do I set up a workflow?

  1. Describe the work

Open Workflows in the sidebar and tap New Workflow. Describe what Revnu should do and when, like you'd tell a new hire: "every Tuesday morning, find 20 new leads in our ICP and draft outreach". Tap Draft It.

Or just ask in chat. Revnu sets it up and sends you a link to it.

  2. Check the plan

The workflow opens with its schedule at the top and its steps underneath. Click a step to change its wording, or tap Add a Step.

  3. Choose what asks first

A step that sends, publishes or spends shows a switch under it. Set to ask me first, that step holds for your review. Set to runs on its own, it doesn't. You can also tell Revnu "hold the emails for my review".

  4. Approve it

Tap Looks Good. The workflow is already scheduled, so it runs at its next time.

Revnu also sets up a workflow on its own when you've asked it for the same work twice. It tells you in one line, with a link. Workflows Revnu made appear under New and Already Running until you open them and tap Looks Good.

What you'll see on a workflow

  • The schedule and the next run, for example "Every weekday at 9am · Next Tue 9:00".

  • The steps, in plain words. Click a line to edit it.

  • Reports to: where each run's results reach you, such as Slack, iMessage or the dashboard.

  • Run Now: starts a run within a minute. Your schedule carries on afterwards.

  • Pause and Resume.

  • Delete (the bin icon): removes the workflow and its run history. You can't undo it.

  • The run picker: it says The Plan until you choose a past run. Pick one to see what each step did.

You can also ask in chat: "move the SEO one to Thursdays", "make it 3 emails, not 10".

Which schedules can a workflow have?

A workflow runs at a time of day, on one of these:

  • Every day, or every few days

  • Chosen days of the week, such as Monday to Friday

  • Once a month on a set date

So "every weekday at 9am" works. "Every 6 hours" doesn't. If Revnu can't read a schedule, the workflow shows Schedule needs attention and won't run until you fix it.

To keep the work inside business hours, pick a run time inside them. Revnu uses your account's time zone unless the schedule names one, such as "weekdays at 9am ET" or "Mondays at 8am Europe/London".

How do I make sure emails only go out on weekdays, in business hours?

It's already done for you. The sending inboxes Revnu sets up only send Monday to Friday, inside business hours in your audience's time zone, and weekends never count toward a follow-up's wait.

To pick the hours, just tell Revnu:

Only send between 9 and 5, New York time.

Or set it yourself: on Leads, pick the campaign, press the steps pill next to it and open Settings, then press Change next to Sending Window.

Sending from your own Gmail or Outlook? Those emails go out the moment you approve them, so you decide exactly when. See How many emails Revnu sends a day.

Why did a workflow find fewer leads than I asked for?

Because Revnu only saves leads that are a genuine fit. Quality beats volume: a short list of the right people books more meetings than a long list padded with the wrong ones. Each run tells you what it found and why.

Want more every run? Widen the net:

Include the whole of Europe, and add Heads of Growth as well as founders.

More locations, more job titles or more company sizes all mean more leads. Open the workflow and pick a run to see exactly what it found.

Can a workflow wait for my approval before sending?

Yes. Set the switch under a step that sends, publishes or spends to ask me first, or ask Revnu ("hold the emails for my review"). Your approval settings apply as well, so a workflow never sends something those settings say should wait.

How do I stop daily blog posts or another recurring job?

  1. Open Workflows in the sidebar and look for it under Running.

  2. Open it and tap Pause, or tap the bin icon to delete it for good. A paused workflow moves to Paused.

If no workflow matches, the work is part of Revnu's own daily session, not a workflow. Tell Revnu in chat: "stop writing daily blog posts". To make sure no post goes live without you, set Blog Posts to Ask Me First in Settings > Agent. See Control what gets published.

Revnu says it has no such job. Where are the posts coming from?

From its daily session. The daily blog post is a task Revnu sets for itself each day, not a workflow, so when you ask it to cancel "the blog job" it may find nothing by that name. Tell it plainly: "stop writing a blog post every day." Then check it stuck: on Home, open the Next tab of What I'm doing and look for a blog post task. Cancel it there if it's still listed.

Note

Scheduled tasks under What I'm doing > Next on Home have Edit, Reschedule and Cancel. Queued emails don't: those rows only link to Leads. To stop email that's waiting to send, say "pause", which cancels the queue. See Pause or stop everything.

Questions about workflows

Can a workflow draft LinkedIn posts from my list of topics?

Yes. Give Revnu the list in the same message:

Every Monday at 9am, draft one LinkedIn post from this list of topics: our pricing change, why we built the API, a mistake we made in our first year, what a customer asked us last week.

The list is saved in the workflow's steps, and Revnu reads it on each run. To add or drop a topic, edit that step on the workflow or tell Revnu. Revnu drafts the post and sends it with a LinkedIn share link. It can't post to LinkedIn for you, so you paste the draft and press Post. See Social posts.

Can a workflow post more than one blog post a day?

No. A workflow can draft a post, but it can't lift Revnu's pace of one post a day on its own. Whether and when the post goes live follows your Blog Posts setting: on Ask Me First it waits for Approve & Publish, and on Just Do It it publishes after a hold, at 9am on the next weekday at least 24 hours away.

To get an extra post on a given day, ask Revnu for that specific post in chat. Each extra needs its own request. See Control what gets published.

Can Revnu skip public holidays?

There's no holiday calendar setting. Two ways around it:

  • Pause the workflow before the holiday and Resume it after. This is the sure way.

  • Add a line to the workflow, such as "skip US public holidays". Revnu reads it on each run, so it's Revnu's judgment, not a fixed rule.

If it doesn't work

What you see What to do
Schedule needs attention Revnu couldn't read the schedule. Rewrite it as a time of day with days, for example "weekdays at 8am"
"I don't know the time zone ..." Name the zone like America/New_York or Europe/London, or use ET, CT, MT, PT, BST or UTC
"steps are too long for one run" The whole workflow has to fit in one run. Shorten some details, or split it into two workflows
Run Now says it can't run yet Read the reason it shows, fix that, then try again
"Your agent updated this workflow while you were editing" Choose Load Their Version or Keep Mine before saving
A run produced nothing Every run should give you something: leads with emails, emails written or sent, or a post. Ask Revnu what happened on that run
