Connect LinkedIn Ads
Connect LinkedIn Campaign Manager so Revnu can build image ads that post as your company page. Why the person who connects must be an admin of that page, what "image access" or "page access" means, and how to pick the right ad account.
You connect LinkedIn Ads from Connections. The person who connects must be an admin of the company page your ads post as. Without that, LinkedIn lets Revnu read results but won't let it publish ads as your page.
This is separate from connecting LinkedIn for invites and messages, which lives under Reach People. See connect LinkedIn.
Before you start
You need a LinkedIn Campaign Manager ad account with a payment method.
The ad account must be linked to your company page in Campaign Manager. Revnu runs ads as that page.
The person connecting needs a role on the ad account and admin rights on the page.
How do I connect LinkedIn Ads?
Open Connections
In the dashboard, open Connections and find the Advertise group.
Press Connect on LinkedIn Ads
Press Connect on the LinkedIn Ads row.
Sign in as a page admin
Sign in to LinkedIn as an admin of your company page, and allow access.
Choose the ad account
If your login can see more than one ad account, press Choose Account and pick the one for this business. The row then says Using and the ad account name.
Note
Revnu won't launch a LinkedIn campaign until an outcome, such as a booked call or a trial start, is set up in Ads > Revnu Tag. See set up outcomes.
What you'll see once it's connected
The row says Using and the ad account name.
Revnu can target or exclude companies, industries, job titles and seniorities. It can also upload a list of company names and domains for LinkedIn to match.
Campaigns start paused and wait for your approval.
Note
Once you approve a launch, LinkedIn bills the payment method on your ad account. Your Monthly Ads Budget caps what Revnu spends across every channel.
Why does LinkedIn need a page admin?
A LinkedIn ad is a post published by your company page. To make one, Revnu uploads the ad image and publishes the post as the page. LinkedIn only allows that for people with a role on the page. Revnu also reads the page itself, which needs admin.
If Revnu or the Connections row talks about image access or page access, it means this: the person who connected isn't an admin of the page, so Revnu can't upload the ad image or post as the page.
How do I fix "the person who connected isn't an admin of that LinkedIn page"?
The row says the ad account can't run ads as the page, and offers Reconnect. Do one of these:
Make the connected person a page admin in LinkedIn. Revnu checks the page again within a week. A reconnect makes it check straight away.
Have a page admin reconnect LinkedIn Ads from the same row.
Results keep coming in while you fix it. Only new ads are blocked.
Questions about LinkedIn Ads
How do I pick the right company page?
You pick the ad account, and the page comes with it: Revnu runs ads as the company page that ad account is linked to in Campaign Manager. If the wrong page shows up, ask Revnu in chat to switch to a different ad account, or change the linked page in Campaign Manager.
I'm an agency. Whose login should connect?
The person who connects must be an admin of the client's company page, not only a user on the ad account. Agencies often manage many ad accounts but admin none of the pages. Two fixes:
Ask the client's page admin to make your LinkedIn user an admin of their page, then reconnect so Revnu checks straight away.
Have the client's page admin connect LinkedIn Ads themselves from that client's Revnu account.
Each client needs its own Revnu account. One Revnu account can't run ads for several clients' pages.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Your LinkedIn login no longer has access to" the ad account | Give that person a role on the ad account in Campaign Manager, or have someone who has one reconnect |
| "The connection expired." | Press Reconnect. LinkedIn connections expire and need signing in again |
| The row says the person who connected isn't an admin of the page | See the fix above |
| You're an agency and see many client accounts | Choose the one for this business. Each Revnu account is one business |

Frequently Asked Questions
LinkedIn won't let Revnu upload the ad image or publish the ad as your company page, because the person who connected LinkedIn Ads isn't an admin of that page. Make them a page admin, or have a page admin reconnect.
