Read Your Ads Results

Where to see spend, clicks and conversions for each campaign, where Revnu's verdict on your own campaigns lives, how to read its cut, keep or push calls, how to get a date range or a recommendation without anything changing, why there may be nothing to measure yet, and how to check each ad platform is receiving your conversions.

Your ads results live on the Ads page, in the Analytics tab, for the campaigns Revnu runs. They are not in the This Week numbers on Home. For your own campaigns, a date range of your own, or numbers below the campaign level, ask Revnu in chat.

Read the Analytics tab

  1. Open Ads

Click Ads in the dashboard sidebar.

  2. Open the Analytics tab

It's the second tab, after Campaigns.

  3. Pick a period

Pick Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days or Lifetime at the top. On an account with a long history, the third option reads Recent instead of Lifetime.

You'll see:

  • Charts of spend and results over the period.

  • Concept Ranking: each ad idea ranked by cost per confirmed win. Ideas with no win yet sit last.

  • By Channel: each ad platform's share of spend and what it bought.

  • A table with one row per campaign: status, spend, impressions, clicks, click-through rate (CTR) and Revnu Conversions.

Revnu Conversions are the outcomes Revnu counted from each campaign, such as a trial start or a purchase, from your outcomes. They can differ from the conversion count inside the ad platform, because each side counts in its own way.

Where is the analysis of campaigns I built myself?

In chat. The Analytics tab only shows campaigns Revnu runs. Ask, for example, "which of my Google campaigns should I scale or cut?", and Revnu answers there with one call per campaign. The verdict itself is a chat message, not a card. A card appears in Review only when Revnu proposes a change, such as search terms to block, and it's named after that change. Look under Waiting, then Done if you already acted on it. More in review the Google Ads campaigns you already run.

Can't find an earlier answer? Ask "where's the campaign comparison you made?" and Revnu points you to it.

How do I read Revnu's ad comparison?

When Revnu compares campaigns, in chat or in an update, each campaign gets one call:

  • Cut: pause it. The money isn't buying results.

  • Keep: leave it as it is.

  • Push: put more money behind it.

Each call names the number it rests on, such as cost per trial or spend with no result, and how sure Revnu is. For campaigns Revnu built, the number is the outcomes Revnu counted itself. For campaigns you built before Revnu, it's the platform's own conversion data. If the Revnu Tag isn't installed or purchases aren't tracked, Revnu says it is less sure, but it still gives a call. A "hold" on every campaign isn't a call: ask again for one call per campaign.

Note

Nothing changes because Revnu made a call. A pause or a budget change waits for your yes.

To judge campaigns on payments rather than sign-ups or the platform's count, set up a Purchase outcome.

When Revnu says a result is attributed to an ad, it means the ad came before the result. That isn't proof the ad caused it. Some of those buyers might have come anyway.

How long before ad results mean anything?

Longer than a few days of spend, and longer for rare outcomes. Revnu doesn't judge an ad until it has spent about twice what one result is worth to you, or the platform has finished learning.

A worked example. One enquiry is worth £150 to you. Revnu waits until an ad has spent about £300, twice that, before it calls it. At £30 a day that's roughly ten days. At £10 a day it's a month.

On Reddit, Revnu keeps an ad unchanged for at least two weeks before judging, and on TikTok at least a week. Before you approve a budget, Revnu tells you roughly what it buys at your market's prices.

What does an ads update contain?

When Revnu reports on your ads, in chat or in a scheduled update, expect:

  • Spend and results for each campaign over the period, with the source of each number: the outcomes Revnu counted, or the platform's own conversions.

  • One call per campaign: cut, keep or push, with the number it rests on and how sure Revnu is.

  • What it changed on its own, such as a paused loser, with the numbers behind it.

  • What it wants to do next, if anything needs your yes.

The verdict is a chat message, not a card. Only a proposed change shows up as a card in Review, named after that change.

Get spend, clicks and conversions for a date range

The Analytics tab has three fixed periods. For anything else, ask where you talk to Revnu. One ask covers up to 31 days; for longer, ask month by month. Name the dates and say what you want:

How did each ad set do from Oct 5 to Oct 13? Spend, link clicks and trials per ad set, and which one you'd put more money behind. Don't change any budgets.

Revnu reads the numbers from each ad platform for those dates. It breaks them down by campaign, and below that by ad set, ad group or single ad where the platform reports it.

The last day or two can still move. Ad platforms finish their counts after the fact, so treat very recent spend as provisional.

Ask for a recommendation without anything changing

Asking "which one would you put more money behind?" gets you Revnu's pick and its reason. Nothing changes because you asked.

  • Budgets never change without you. Any change to spend or a budget always waits for your approval, whatever your settings say.

  • Tests inside an approved budget can. If Ad Tests is set to Just Do It, Revnu can launch or swap a test inside a test budget you already approved. To make every launch and swap wait for you, set Ad Tests to Ask Me First in Settings > Agent > What Needs Your Approval. See what Revnu asks before it acts.

How do I see which ad ideas worked?

The Concept Ranking on the Analytics tab already shows cost per confirmed win for each idea. For a "creative hit rate", the share of ideas that ever brought a result, ask Revnu with the outcome and the dates:

Of the ad ideas launched since September 1, how many brought at least one trial start? List each with its spend and trials.

Revnu has no built-in report for this, so it works the figure out from what it has and tells you it's its own count.

Why there's nothing to measure yet

The Analytics tab says "Campaign analytics will appear here after Revnu creates your first campaign" until there is one. Work through these in order:

  1. Is an ad account connected? Go to Connections > Advertise. Google, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, Microsoft and TikTok each connect from there. Google can show an "unverified app" screen during connection. Connect Google Ads shows how to get past it. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) is a pilot open to some accounts only. See Meta ads.

  2. Is an outcome set up? Revnu waits for one before it launches a campaign: a purchase, trial start or booked call set up in Ads > Revnu Tag. Setting it up means adding code to your site and server. A coding agent can do it from a prompt Revnu gives you, or Revnu can open the pull request if your repo is connected. With no developer and no coding agent, Revnu can still see clicks, but booked calls and purchases can't be counted, so no ad can be judged on them. Plan for this before your ads test: it can take longer than the test itself. See set up outcomes.

  3. Did Revnu know you wanted ads first? Revnu picks where to start from what it knows about your business. If you want ads before anything else, say so plainly:

Start with a Google Ads test, not email. Spend up to $20 a day and count a booked call as the win.

  4. Did you approve the test budget? Nothing spends until you approve it. Look on Ads and in Review for a waiting card.

  5. Has the platform reported yet? After launch the table says "Analytics begin after a campaign launches and the ad platform reports results."

Asked for ads and Revnu went to email instead? Say:

Pause the email work and set up the Google Ads test first.

Revnu works on the channel you ask for, and proposes the campaign paused for your approval.

If ads still aren't running, see why your ads aren't running.

Check each platform is receiving your conversions

Before you judge ads with clicks and no conversions, check the conversions are being recorded and sent to each platform.

  1. Open the Revnu Tag tab

Click Ads in the sidebar, then the Revnu Tag tab.

  2. Check the Status column

In the outcomes table, each outcome's Status should read Live. Receiving or Not set up means it isn't counted yet.

  3. Check Last seen

Last seen should be recent. If it is, Revnu is receiving the outcome from your site.

  4. Check Reported to

Reported to should list each ad platform you run. A dash means no platform receives it yet.

  5. Fire a test

Complete a real one on your site yourself: a purchase, a trial start or a booking. A healthy row then reads Live, with Last seen a few minutes ago.

If Last seen is recent but a platform still shows zero conversions, that platform isn't receiving them. Ask Revnu "which platforms are receiving our conversions?" and it will tell you each platform's state.

You can keep a platform's own pixel alongside the Revnu Tag. If both count the same event, the platform's own report can show it twice, so judge Revnu's campaigns on Revnu Conversions.

Booked-call results count only what your booking tool reports and what you tell Revnu. Tell Revnu how a call went ("Tuesday's call was a no-show", "they signed") and it records exactly that. Setup for purchases, trial starts and booked calls is in Set up outcomes.
