How Do I Find People Asking for a Tool Like Mine?
A GTM play for Revnu. Every day, people post "anyone recommend a good [tool]?" or "looking for an alternative to [competitor]". Revnu finds those posts on LinkedIn and Reddit, finds the person and their work email, and reaches them while they're still deciding.
Every morning, someone in your market posts "anyone got recommendations for a good [tool]?" They're about to buy, and they just told the whole internet. Revnu finds those posts, works out who wrote them, and gets your answer in front of them while they're still choosing.
Why it works
A recommendation request is the clearest buying signal there is. The person has the problem, the budget conversation has started, and they're asking strangers for help. Whoever answers first, with something useful, usually wins the call. Most companies never see these posts. Revnu reads them every day.
How to run it
Pick the phrases. Tell Revnu what buyers type: "recommendations for [tool]", "alternative to [competitor]", "looking for a good [software]", "has anyone used [company]", "got burned by [company]".
Search the posts. Revnu searches recent public LinkedIn posts and Reddit threads for those phrases.
Find the person. For each post, Revnu reads the author's headline and company, checks they fit your buyer, and finds a checked work email.
Write a reply-worthy email. It answers their question honestly, mentions their post, and offers one easy next step.
Answer on Reddit too. On Reddit, Revnu drafts a helpful reply in the thread for your approval.
Move fast. Run it every morning, so you're among the first to answer.
The prompt
Search LinkedIn posts and Reddit threads from the last 7 days where people ask for recommendations for [your category], ask for an alternative to [competitor], or say they got burned by [competitor]. For each LinkedIn post, find the author, check they fit our buyer, find their work email and write an email that answers their question and mentions their post. For Reddit, draft a helpful reply in the thread for me to approve.
Each lead keeps the post on its Signals tab. Reddit thread replies are switched on by request: email support@revnu.com, and every reply waits for you in Review before it posts. See social posts.
Run it every morning
Speed is the whole play, so make it a daily workflow:
Every weekday at 7am, search LinkedIn and Reddit for posts from the last day asking for a [your category] recommendation or an alternative to [competitor]. Add the buyers to the Hand Raisers campaign and draft Reddit replies for me to approve.
