LinkedIn Limits and Account Safety

How Revnu keeps your LinkedIn account safe, how many invites it sends a day, and why nobody is accepting your connection requests yet. The four-week ramp, a normal first week, weekday working hours, the 90-action daily cap and how to see who accepted.

Revnu warms your LinkedIn account up the way a careful person would. It starts at 5 invites a day in week one and builds every week, reaching 17 a day and 85 a week by week four. Everything goes out on weekdays between 9:00 and 18:00 in your account's time zone, spaced a few minutes apart, with no more than 8 in any hour.

That pace is deliberate, and it's the same for every account. LinkedIn watches for accounts that suddenly start sending in bulk, and your profile is your own professional identity, so Revnu builds trust first and volume second. The result is an account that keeps sending month after month, instead of one that gets restricted in week two.

How does Revnu keep my LinkedIn account safe?

The limits on this page keep your activity at the pace of a busy person, not a tool. On top of them:

More on connecting: connect LinkedIn.

How many invites and messages does Revnu send a day?

Week one starts with the first thing Revnu sends from your account. Each LinkedIn account counts its own weeks.

Week Invites a day Invites a week New messages a day Replies a day InMail a day
1 5 25 10 20 3
2 10 50 20 40 5
3 15 70 30 60 5
4 and after 17 85 40 60 5
  • New messages start a conversation with someone who accepted your invite. Replies answer inside a conversation that already exists. LinkedIn is more relaxed about replies, so they have their own, higher limit.

  • These are ceilings. Each day runs somewhere between 80% and 100% of them, so the totals differ day to day. Identical daily numbers look automated.

  • The weekly invite limit resets on Monday. LinkedIn itself allows about 100 invites a week, so 85 leaves room.

What other limits apply?

  • 90 actions a day in total, counting everything: invites, messages, replies, InMail and profile look-ups.

  • Monday to Friday only, 9:00 to 18:00, in your account's time zone. The days are fixed. If your work week runs Sunday to Thursday, Revnu still sends Monday to Friday, and you can't change that. See which time zone LinkedIn uses below.

  • A random gap of 90 seconds to 6 minutes between actions.

  • At most 8 sends an hour. Bursts trigger LinkedIn's checks even when the daily total is low.

  • During a free trial, 3 invites a day on Saturday and Sunday, in the same hours. Only invites, so outreach can start before your trial ends.

Replies you type yourself in Inbox, on the LinkedIn tab, don't wait for working hours or limits, because a person replying is normal use. They still count toward the day.

Why didn't all my approved invites go out today?

Approving a sequence starts it. It doesn't send everyone at once. Here's what holds the rest back:

  • The daily invite limit. In week one that's 5, so a list of 40 people takes weeks to reach.

  • Up to 20 new people start each weekday, fewer while your account is still ramping up.

  • Invites are spread across the working day. Some go out hours apart on purpose.

  • Outside 9:00 to 18:00 and at weekends, nothing sends, except a few trial weekend invites.

Nobody is dropped. People who haven't started stay in the sequence and start on a later weekday.

To see who has been invited so far:

  1. Open the sequence

Open Leads, pick the campaign and click the steps pill next to it, for example 3 Steps.

  2. Open Recipients

In the sequence window, open the ••• menu and choose Recipients.

  3. Read the Progress column

Progress says how far each person has got, such as "1 of 3 sent" or "Not Started".

Or ask Revnu "how many LinkedIn invites are left today?". It reads the live numbers. More on the sequence window: sequences.

The first day a sequence sends, Revnu tells you what went out and what's left, for example "sent 8 connection requests today, 27 still to start".

How long until people accept?

Longer than most people expect. LinkedIn can take up to about 8 hours to show an acceptance, and most people take days to answer, if they answer at all. A few days of single-digit invites is too small to judge. Give it two to three weeks.

What does a normal first week look like?

Say you connect LinkedIn and approve a sequence of 40 people on a Monday. Here's roughly what happens:

  • Monday to Friday, 4 or 5 invites go out each day, spread across working hours. The week-one ceiling is 5 a day and 25 a week.

  • By Friday, about 20 to 25 people have an invite. The other 15 or so wait for next week, when the limit rises to 10 a day.

  • Acceptances trickle in behind the invites. By Friday, most of Monday's invites and nearly all of Thursday's are still unanswered. That's normal, not a sign that nobody wants to talk to you.

  • The message after they accept goes out on a later weekday, once LinkedIn shows the accept.

Revnu doesn't promise an acceptance rate, so there's no number to hit by Friday. Ask for the count at the end of week two or three.

If someone doesn't accept within 10 working days, the sequence moves on. A message that needed them to accept is skipped, and the next step, such as an email, goes ahead.

How do I see how many people accepted?

Ask Revnu where you talk to it, for example:

How many LinkedIn invites were sent and accepted this week?

It reads the live numbers for any period up to 31 days. An accept counts in the week the person accepted, not the week you invited them, and withdrawn invites drop out of the count. See your results.

To check one person, open their row on Leads. A LinkedIn lead shows its stage: In Queue, Invite Sent, Connected, Messaged, Seen or Replied.

Should I withdraw invites nobody answered?

Only old ones. You can ask Revnu to withdraw invites that have sat unanswered for about three weeks, so your pending list stays short. Once you withdraw an invite, LinkedIn won't let you invite that person again for about three weeks, so don't withdraw one you plan to resend soon.

Which time zone does LinkedIn use?

Your account's time zone. Revnu sets it from your browser when you sign up, and it's the same one your daily update uses. There's no setting for it in the dashboard.

  • To check it, ask Revnu "what time zone am I on?".

  • To change it, say "change my time zone to Asia/Dubai", or whichever city you're in. LinkedIn sends and your daily update both move to the new zone.

When will LinkedIn be big enough to matter?

At full pace, one account sends 85 invites a week. That's the most it will ever do, from week four on. So LinkedIn suits a defined list of people you really want to reach: founders in one batch, buyers at 50 named companies. It isn't a volume channel.

What you can change:

  • Who you target. A short list of people who match your buyer beats a long loose one.

  • Note or no note. Revnu sends invites without a note by default, because free LinkedIn accounts only get a few notes a month. Revnu has no data showing that a note raises or lowers acceptance. Try a short note on part of your list if you want to compare.

  • The message after they accept. That's where the conversation starts. Edit it in the sequence. See LinkedIn invites, messages and replies.

  • Email alongside. One sequence can mix email and LinkedIn steps. Email reaches more people a day.

  • More seats. Each teammate who connects their own LinkedIn has their own limits for one-off invites and messages you ask for. A sequence still sends only from the account owner's LinkedIn. See connect LinkedIn.

Revnu doesn't promise an acceptance rate. It depends on who you send to.

If it doesn't work

What you see What to do
Nothing has sent at all Check that the LinkedIn DMs card in Connections > Reach People says Connected, and that LinkedIn Sending in Settings > Agent is on. Then open Leads, pick the campaign and check that the steps pill next to it says Live, not Needs Approval
Sends happen at odd hours Your account's time zone is wrong. Ask Revnu to change it, as described above
The LinkedIn row says Paused LinkedIn pushed back and Revnu stopped. See why LinkedIn sending stopped
Some people never start A LinkedIn step needs a LinkedIn profile on the lead, and an email step needs an email. People missing one wait unstarted. Open the lead's row on Leads: it says Can't Start and why, for example "No LinkedIn profile"

Frequently Asked Questions

Revnu is built to keep it safe. Its limits are small and ramp up over a month, it sends on weekdays in working hours only, and it stops all LinkedIn actions for at least 72 hours if LinkedIn pushes back. If you'd rather it never sends, keep LinkedIn read-only or use email only.
