The best ZoomInfo alternatives for startups in 2026 are Revnu if you want the growth work run for you, Apollo.io and UpLead if you want affordable contact data, and Clay if you have someone to build enrichment workflows.
Most lists of ZoomInfo alternatives swap one contact database for another. That's fine if you already have an SDR or growth hire to run it. Many seed-to-Series-B teams don't, and a database with no one working it produces a list, not pipeline. So this list splits the field: six tools that sell you contact data or the means to enrich it, and Revnu, which runs the growth work (finding buyers, drafting outreach, ads, SEO, follow-ups) with you approving. Revnu publishes this post, so read the ranking with that in mind. Every price below is stated with its unit and billing terms, and where a data tool is the better fit, we say so.
| Tool | Best for | Entry price and unit | Billing terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revnu | Running growth work with founder approval | Pro $99 per month; Managed custom-priced | Self-serve Pro, cancel anytime |
| Apollo.io | Cheap all-in-one prospecting database | Basic $49 per user per month, annual billing | Free plan; monthly and annual billing |
| Clay | Building enrichment workflows | Launch from $185 per month; Data Credits from $0.05 each | Free plan; credits scale with plan |
| UpLead | Verified emails at a flat monthly price | Essentials $99 per month ($74 billed annually), 170 credits | 7-day free trial; extra credits $0.50 to $0.60 each |
| Lusha | Quick contact lookups for small teams | Pro $69.90 per month ($52.45 billed annually), 600 credits | Free plan: 40 credits per month |
| LeadIQ | Capturing contacts while prospecting | Essential $45 per user per month ($36 billed annually) | Free plan: 50 credits per month |
| Cognism | Phone-verified data, strong in Europe | Quote-based; Standard plan includes 5 seats |
1. Revnu
Revnu is the pick if what you lack isn't contacts but someone to turn them into pipeline. It's an agent that runs growth work for a software business. It finds the companies and people who should buy from you, drafts the outreach, runs ads and search work, and handles follow-ups, while you approve. You build the product. Revnu finds who wants it.
That's a different job from ZoomInfo's. ZoomInfo and the other tools below sell access to a database and leave the work to your team. Revnu does the work across channels and keeps one memory between them, so an angle that gets replies in outbound can inform an ad headline. On current Pro defaults you approve each new sequence once, and its emails and follow-ups then run. Prospect replies, new spending commitments and budget changes always wait for you, and paid campaigns are created paused.
Price and terms: Pro is $99 per month, self-serve, with no sales call, and you can cancel anytime. The exact trial offer is shown at signup and checkout. Managed is custom-priced and adds a dedicated growth engineer. The way in is a 30-minute call at revnu.com/book. Pricing is on the Revnu pricing page.
CRM coexistence: Revnu isn't a native CRM, and it doesn't claim to replace one. Keep HubSpot, Attio or Salesforce for your existing process and run Revnu alongside, or export selected contacts as CSV or XLSX and upload them in dashboard chat so Revnu can research and work that audience. The import is a snapshot, not two-way sync, and it doesn't carry over deal history, workflows or permissions. Uploading a list doesn't authorize sending. The approval defaults are covered in the approvals docs, and the import route is explained in Import CRM contacts into Revnu.
Where a data tool wins: if you already employ an SDR who wants a deep database to search by hand, buy a database. If nobody owns growth, Revnu is the better fit. For the head-to-head with outbound tools, see Outbound Without an SDR: Revnu vs Clay, Apollo, Artisan.
2. Apollo.io
Apollo.io is the best affordable ZoomInfo alternative when you want a contact database, sequencing and a free tier in one product. It markets itself as a sales intelligence platform, and a large base of companies uses it for prospecting.
Price and terms: Apollo's paid plans are priced per user per month. Third-party reporting puts Basic at $49 per user per month, Professional at $79 and Organization at $119, all on annual billing, with Organization requiring at least three users. Credits are pooled across the team and reset each billing cycle. Unused credits don't roll over. There's a Free plan, and Apollo's pricing page covers how to buy extra credits and monitor usage (Apollo pricing).
Watch the seat math. Per-seat costs can add up quickly across a team before buying extra credits.
Choose Apollo if you have at least one person who will build lists, write sequences and watch deliverability. Someone has to run it. If that person doesn't exist yet, the list will sit unused.
3. Clay
Clay is the best choice when you have a GTM engineer or an operator who enjoys building enrichment workflows. It pulls data from many providers and lets you chain lookups, scoring and CRM sync into automated tables.
Price and terms: Clay's plans are priced per month, with usage metered in two units. Launch starts at $185 per month and Growth at $495 per month. Data Credits start at $0.05 each and get cheaper at volume, and Actions start at less than $0.01 each and also get cheaper with scale (Clay pricing). A free plan exists. Spend depends on how many enrichments you run, so estimate your monthly rows before you commit.
The tradeoff is time. Clay gives you powerful building blocks, but someone has to build, debug and maintain them. For a founder with no growth hire, the workflow becomes another job. Clay is a better fit than Revnu if you want to own every step of the enrichment logic yourself.
4. UpLead
UpLead is the best fit when verified emails and predictable monthly pricing matter more than database size. It publishes its prices openly, which makes it one of the easier ZoomInfo substitutes to budget.
Price and terms: Essentials is $99 per month on monthly billing, or $74 per month billed annually, with 170 credits per month and one user. Plus is $199 per month ($149 billed annually) with 400 credits per month and one user. Extra credits cost $0.60 each on Essentials and $0.50 each on Plus. Professional is annual billing only and quote-based, and there's a 7-day free trial with 5 credits (UpLead pricing).
The credit ceiling is the catch. At 170 credits a month, you're buying a few hundred contacts, not an unlimited database. That suits a founder doing targeted account research, not a team trying to blast thousands of contacts.
UpLead also offers a done-for-you cold email service built on its data, if you want to hand off the sending side.
5. Lusha
Lusha is a good lookup tool for small teams that need direct emails and phone numbers quickly, often from within the browser or CRM. It's one of the cheaper ways to get a phone number for a named person.
Price and terms: Lusha runs on credits. Plans provide tiered monthly credit allowances and included user seats. An email reveal costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 5, so a 600-credit plan covers far fewer phone numbers than email addresses (Lusha pricing).
Do the credit arithmetic before you buy. If you mostly want mobile numbers, 600 credits is 120 numbers a month. Lusha fits a founder who researches a short list of accounts and wants to contact the right person directly.
6. LeadIQ
LeadIQ is built for the person prospecting day to day. You capture a contact from a profile page, verify it, and push it to your CRM or sequencer. It's a capture tool as much as a database.
Price and terms: LeadIQ offers free and paid tiers with monthly credit allocations for email and phone lookups. The allowances are per user, and details can vary with billing terms (LeadIQ pricing).
LeadIQ states that its phone numbers are checked and labelled as verified, and its pricing page explains where its data comes from and how often it's updated. It suits reps who live in a browser prospecting. It doesn't decide who to target or write the outreach, so it still assumes you have a rep.
7. Cognism
Cognism is the closest like-for-like ZoomInfo competitor on this list, with a focus on verified mobile numbers and strong coverage in Europe. It's also the most enterprise-shaped, so it's the weakest fit for a seed-stage team on a tight budget.
Price and terms: Cognism doesn't publish a price. Its pricing page outlines different prospecting packages and add-ons based on team needs (Cognism pricing). Expect a sales conversation and likely an annual contract, which is the thing many startups are trying to escape when they leave ZoomInfo.
Cognism earns its place if you sell into Europe and need phone-verified contacts on a sales team that already exists. If you have no team to use them, the money is better spent elsewhere.
How we ranked these ZoomInfo alternatives
We ranked these ZoomInfo alternatives on four criteria, weighted for a seed-to-Series-B team with no SDR.
First, how much work remains after you buy. A database needs a person. An agent that runs the work doesn't. Second, price transparency: whether the entry price and its unit (per user, per credit, per month) are published. Third, contract flexibility: monthly or cancel-anytime beats an annual commitment, since ZoomInfo's auto-renewal is a common complaint. Fourth, fit for a small team: seat minimums, credit ceilings and enterprise-only add-ons count against a tool.
Revnu ranks first because it's the only option here that removes the labour, not just the data cost. The six data tools are ordered by how little setup and commitment they ask of a small team. Tools you can start on a free plan or a published monthly price rank higher than quote-only ones.
Contact data vs growth work: how to choose
Choose a contact database if you already have someone whose job is prospecting, and choose Revnu if you don't.
A data tool answers one question: who is this person and how do I reach them. It doesn't decide who to target, write the message, follow up, run ads or publish the pages that bring buyers to you. If you have an SDR or a growth hire, that's exactly what you want, and Apollo, UpLead or Clay will serve them well at a fraction of ZoomInfo's cost.
If you're a founder doing growth between product tasks, a database is a list you won't get to. Revnu does the loop. It finds the buyers, drafts the outreach, runs the follow-ups and reports back, with you approving. The two also coexist. Keep a data tool or CRM for your existing process and use Revnu alongside it, or upload a selected CSV or XLSX of contacts and let Revnu work that audience.
If you want to see how Revnu sets up for a team like yours, start with Pipeline for your reps without more SDRs or Your growth team, before your first hire.
Pick the tool that matches who does the work
The right ZoomInfo alternative depends less on database size than on who will use it. If you have a rep, buy Apollo or UpLead and run it hard. If you don't, a database will only add another login. Paste your website into Revnu on the $99 per month Pro plan, approve the first sequence, and see which buyers it finds and what it sends before you commit to anything larger.
