On this page
Smartlead is the best kind of pipe. It rotates sends across dozens of mailboxes, keeps them warm, and gets the message delivered. What it can't tell you is whether the message is right, whether the list is right, or whether cold email is the channel your buyers answer at all. If your deliverability dashboard is green and your reply rate is near zero, that's the gap, and no amount of extra mailboxes closes it.
This guide moves your work from Smartlead to Revnu: leads, copy, blocklist, and an honest answer about your mailboxes.
What changes when you switch
Smartlead executes a plan you made. Revnu makes the plan with you and runs it. It finds companies that fit who you sell to, finds the right person at each, writes in your voice, sends at a human pace, reads replies and drafts your answers, and treats a quiet channel as a finding rather than a reason to send more. It also runs SEO, LinkedIn and ads, so a channel that is working can get more of the effort. Smartlead vs Revnu has the longer comparison.
Approval stays with you. The first sequence always waits for your yes, and you choose whether later ones do too.
What to bring over
From Smartlead, collect:
Campaign leads. Export the leads of each campaign worth keeping as a CSV, without the bounced ones.
Your best sequence. The steps and the waits. Paste the version people received, not the template with its spintax.
Your global blocklist and unsubscribes. Export both. This is what keeps you from emailing someone who asked you to stop.
Who you sell to, in a sentence. Company type, role, size and place.
How each piece comes in
Your leads. Drop the CSV into the chat on your Revnu dashboard (or in Slack, if Revnu is in your workspace) and say what it is: "here's my lead list, add these to my leads." The chat takes a PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, text file, image or video, up to 10 files of 10 MB each, so an Excel export works too. Revnu reads the file as it is, saves each company and person to your Leads page with the title, email and LinkedIn profile from the export, and labels the batch so you can find it later. It also checks every company against who you sell to, and tells you which rows it skipped as a poor fit and why.
Your sequence. Paste your best-performing sequence into the chat, every step with its wait. Revnu keeps your words as they are unless you ask it to change something, and saves the sequence for you to review on the Leads page, where you can edit any step and approve it. A sequence is a first email plus up to three follow-ups, one to 30 business days apart, each sent in the same thread and stopped the moment someone replies. Your first sequence always waits for your yes. After that, the Start Sequences setting decides: Ask Me First keeps each new sequence waiting for you, and Just Do It lets Revnu start them itself.
Your blocklist. In Settings, open the Block List, add entries, and paste a column of emails, company domains or LinkedIn profile links straight from the export; a messy CSV column works without cleaning. A domain blocks everyone at that company. The list is checked before every send, email and LinkedIn alike, so nobody on it hears from Revnu. You can also tell Revnu in chat: "never contact anyone at these companies."
Who you sell to. Paste the sentence into the chat, or edit it yourself in Settings under Memory, in About This Business.
Your mailboxes. Revnu doesn't connect mailboxes through SMTP and IMAP settings, so a rotation of SMTP mailboxes stays with Smartlead. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 accounts you can sign in to connect like any other inbox. Your own Gmail or Google Workspace inbox, or Outlook or Microsoft 365, connects on the Connections page. It can send the day you connect it, and Revnu writes as the person who owns it. For cold email at volume, Revnu can also set up separate outreach domains that look like yours, with inboxes on them, so your main domain's reputation is never on the line. It proposes the domains, buys nothing until you approve, and warms the new inboxes for about two weeks before they send.
LinkedIn. Connect your LinkedIn account on the same Connections page. Revnu sends connection requests and messages as you, inside daily caps and normal working hours, and can put LinkedIn steps in a sequence: an invite, then a message once they accept.
What Revnu takes off your plate
List building. When the imported leads run out, Revnu finds more companies that fit and the right person at each, with emails found and checked before anything sends.
Writing. If your copy has stopped working, Revnu writes a new sequence in your voice for you to approve, and keeps your words exactly when you'd rather use your own.
Sending. At a human pace, inside your sending window, with follow-ups in the same thread that stop on a reply.
Replies. Revnu reads each one and drafts your answer, with your booking link when they want to talk. Replies to prospects wait for you.
The decision above the pipe. Which segment is answering, whether email is working, and what to try next, including on other channels.
What doesn't carry over
Campaign and reply history. Sends, opens, replies, bounces and the master inbox stay in Smartlead. Export what you want before you cancel.
SMTP mailboxes and their warmup. Those stay behind with the reputation they built. Revnu's new outreach inboxes warm for about two weeks; a Gmail or Outlook inbox you connect can send the same day.
Multi-client agency setup. Revnu works one business at a time. Client workspaces, white-label and per-client reporting are Smartlead territory.
Rows that don't fit. Revnu won't queue people it judges a poor fit for what you sell, and tells you which and why.
While both run, keep each person in one tool. Pause the Smartlead campaigns for anyone you import, or add the people still in them to Revnu's Block List until those campaigns end.
The five-minute setup
Go to revnu.com/sign-up and give it your website. Revnu reads the site, which takes about a minute.
Check what it found: what you sell, who you sell to, and anything it should never say. That becomes its memory of your business, and you can edit it any time in Settings.
Add your card on Stripe's page. Plans start at $99 a month.
On the Connections page, connect your Gmail or Outlook inbox, and LinkedIn if you use it.
Drop your export into the chat and say what it is.
If you live in a coding agent, you can do the whole thing from there. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http --scope user revnu https://revnu.com/api/mcp, then say "Set me up with revnu.com" and it walks you through the same steps. Other agents are on the setup page.
Where this leaves you
If you already know your message converts and the job is sending it reliably at scale, keep Smartlead; it is very good at that.
If you are the one deciding who to email, writing every step and wondering why the green dashboard isn't producing meetings, move the leads, sequence and blocklist into Revnu this afternoon, connect an inbox, and approve the first sequence. The decision above the pipe becomes Revnu's job, and you still sign off on what goes out.
