A solo founder I'll call Marco sells scheduling software to physiotherapy clinics. Last spring he bought Instantly's Hypergrowth sending plan and a credits plan for the lead database, $194 a month together, connected eight mailboxes on two new domains and let them warm for three weeks. In May he sent just over 9,000 emails. He got 31 replies, four of them positive, and one demo. His first instinct was that the sender was the problem: wrong warmup, wrong tool, wrong domains. So he started searching "instantly alternatives".
Then he noticed where his four positive replies had come from. All four were clinic owners who had seen his post in a physio Facebook group before the email arrived. The sending had worked fine. Cold email to clinic owners just wasn't his channel, and no sender on this list would have changed that.
That is the question to settle before you migrate. Below are seven real alternatives with what each costs on its pricing page this month and the limit each one won't advertise, plus a way to work out whether you need a different tool or a different approach.
Why people look for Instantly alternatives
Instantly deserves its popularity. Its founding move was dropping per-seat pricing: every sending plan includes unlimited email accounts and warmup, so you can spread volume across many inboxes for a flat fee. Around that it has built a 450M+ contact database sold on credits, AI agents that find leads, write the emails and answer replies, and done-for-you mailboxes. For an agency sending on behalf of clients, or a team with a proven email motion, it is one of the cheapest ways to send.
People look elsewhere for a few distinct reasons:
The bill grows in pieces. Sending plans run $47, $97 and $358 a month. Lead credits are a separate plan from $47. Bundles that include the agents start at $94. None of that is unreasonable, but the total for a real campaign is rarely the number on the first card.
They need more than email. Instantly is built around email. Teams whose cadence leans on LinkedIn steps, calls or SMS often prefer one multichannel tool to two products.
Deliverability. Google and Microsoft have tightened bulk-sender rules since 2024, and anyone sending at volume, on any tool, is exposed to that. Some people switch hoping a different warmup network fixes placement. Sometimes it does; often the list or the message is the cause.
Nobody has time to run it. Instantly assumes someone picks the audience, writes the sequence and handles replies. Its AI agents now cover more of that, but a founder still has to supervise a volume operation.
What to look for
Who does the work. List, copy, replies. Every tool here except one assumes a person does them.
The real monthly total. Sending plus leads plus add-ons, at the volume you'll actually send.
Channels. Email only, or email plus LinkedIn and calls.
Where the leads come from. Built-in database, credits, or your own list.
Mailboxes and warmup. Unlimited mailboxes is now standard among the volume senders; check what warmup and done-for-you inboxes cost.
An approval step. Whether you see each message before it sends.
The 7 best Instantly alternatives in 2026
1. Revnu
Revnu is not another sender, and that is why it's listed first. It doesn't give you mailboxes to operate; it does the job you would otherwise operate them for. You connect your site, Gmail and LinkedIn. It researches your business, finds the companies that fit and the right person at each, verifies their work emails, writes each message from that research and shows it to you. On your approval it sends from your inbox or your LinkedIn account, reads the replies and follows up. Email is one lane of several. The same account runs paid ads on LinkedIn, X, Google, Reddit, Microsoft and TikTok, writes search pages and publishes them after you approve, and tracks how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer questions about your category. That is what would have helped Marco: when a channel isn't working, the effort moves to one that is, instead of the same message going to more inboxes.
Best for: founders without a sales or growth hire who want customers, not a sending operation to run.
Pricing: from $99 a month, and it starts with a free trial. Lead data is included, so there are no credits. Ad spend is billed by the ad platforms.
The honest limit: it is not a contact database you can browse and export, and not a CRM. It doesn't do calls, SMS or WhatsApp. Every send waits for your approval, so outreach goes at the pace you review it. It is built for researched sends at a human pace, so if you need 100,000 emails a month, it is the wrong tool.
When not to pick Revnu: you run outbound for clients as an agency, you already have a proven high-volume email motion with someone who owns it, or you want a raw sending engine you control end to end.
2. Smartlead
Smartlead is the closest like-for-like alternative. Every plan includes unlimited mailboxes, and it adds a private warmup network, automatic sender rotation and a single inbox for replies across campaigns. Lead-generation agencies are its core market, which shows in the white-label option and client workspaces. It has also added a lead database, a dialer and AI agents. The longer comparison is Revnu vs Smartlead.
Best for: agencies and high-volume senders who want cheaper entry pricing and agency features.
Pricing: Base $39 a month, Pro $94, Unlimited Smart $174 and Unlimited Prime $379, about 17% less billed annually; free trial with no card (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: it is the same kind of product as Instantly. If the reason you're leaving is the list, the copy or the channel, Smartlead inherits the problem.
3. Reply.io
Reply.io is the multichannel choice. Its sequences mix email, LinkedIn steps, calls and SMS, plus semi-automated WhatsApp, with one inbox for everything, warmup on every mailbox and a live contact search. Jason AI, its AI SDR, builds the target profile, writes sequences and drafts responses in copilot or autopilot mode.
Best for: sales teams who want email and LinkedIn in one cadence, and who are happy to pay per user for it.
Pricing: Email Volume from $49 per user a month billed annually ($59 monthly), with LinkedIn ($69 per account) and calls and SMS ($29 per account) as add-ons; Multichannel from $89 per user a month annually; Jason AI from $500 a month annually; 14-day trial (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: per-user pricing and add-ons make it more expensive than Instantly for pure email volume. If Reply.io itself is on your shortlist, the list of Reply.io alternatives weighs it against the rest.
4. lemlist
lemlist covers email and LinkedIn for small sales teams. The Email plan includes unlimited users and senders, warmup through lemwarm, a 650M+ lead database and lemAgent, its AI agent. The Multichannel plan adds LinkedIn automation (visits, invites, messages, voice notes, InMail), SMS, a built-in dialer and an optional WhatsApp add-on.
Best for: teams who want email and LinkedIn in one sequence with less setup than a full sales suite.
Pricing: Email $69 a month ($55 billed yearly); Multichannel $109 per user a month ($87 yearly); Enterprise quoted on request; 14-day trial with no card (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: lead enrichment and buying signals are paid add-ons, and Multichannel is per user, so cost rises as you hire.
5. Saleshandy
Saleshandy is the budget option with leads included. Every plan has unlimited mailboxes with no per-inbox fee, sender rotation, a unified inbox and a monthly allowance of lead finder credits, so a small team can find contacts and send without a second data subscription.
Best for: solo founders and small teams who want low-cost email outreach with contact data in the price.
Pricing: Starter $41 a month ($34 billed annually) for 2,000 active prospects and 6,000 emails; Pro 99 dollars ($76); Scale $189 ($149); 7-day free trial (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: like Instantly it is built around email, and the Starter plan has a single user.
6. Apollo.io
Apollo comes at the problem from the data side. Its database covers 240 million contacts and 30 million companies, per its site, with email sequences, a dialer, deal tracking and AI research on top, all paid for from a pooled credit balance. If you use Instantly mainly with lists you bought elsewhere, Apollo puts the data and the sending behind one login. More in Revnu vs Apollo.
Best for: sales teams who want search, enrichment and sequencing from one vendor.
Pricing: free plan; Basic $49 per seat a month, Professional $79 and Organization $119 (minimum three seats), billed annually; 14-day trial (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: seat-based pricing makes high-volume sending across many inboxes more expensive than on Instantly, and unused credits expire each cycle.
7. Clay
Clay is a data workbench, not a sender at heart, but it belongs here because it now sends email sequences natively. Its strength is enrichment: it queries many data providers in turn until one returns the field you need, and its AI research agent turns questions like "does this company sell to dentists?" into a column across thousands of rows. Teams who use Instantly mainly as the last step of a Clay workflow sometimes consolidate. See Revnu vs Clay.
Best for: teams with a skilled operator whose bottleneck is list quality and research, not sending.
Pricing: free plan; Launch $185 a month ($167 billed annually); Growth $495 ($446); Enterprise quoted on request; 14-day trial (pricing page, October 2026).
The honest limit: it is a canvas that someone has to build and maintain, and its sending is simpler than a dedicated volume tool's.

Where this leaves you
Start with Marco's question: is the sender the problem, or the channel?
If cold email is working and you want it cheaper, Smartlead or Saleshandy will usually cost less, and moving is mostly reconnecting mailboxes. Stay if you're happy; the switching cost is real and the differences are small.
If you need LinkedIn in the same sequence, Reply.io or lemlist. If LinkedIn turns out to be most of your results, read how LinkedIn outreach actually works before buying seats.
If your list is the weak link, Apollo or Clay improve the input, and either can send.
If cold email isn't converting and you can't tell why, a different sender is the most expensive way to find out. Check the message first; cold email that gets replies covers what usually goes wrong, and the free cold email templates are a cheap way to test a new angle. Then check the channel, because for plenty of businesses it isn't email at all.
If nobody has the hours to run outbound, that is the case for Revnu: it finds the buyers, writes the messages and moves effort to whichever channel answers, with every send waiting for your yes. Most of the tools above make sending cheaper. That only helps once someone has worked out who to send to and what to say.
