# How Do I Find People and Their Contact Details With Revnu?

> Find the exact people who buy what you sell, and a checked work email for each. Every filter Revnu can search people by (job title, seniority, company, company size, location, past employers, schools, LinkedIn posts and engagement), what every person record carries, and how waterfall enrichment finds and verifies emails.

Revnu finds the person who actually buys, not just a name at the company. Say the role, the kind of company and anything else you know: where they work, where they used to work, what they're posting about on LinkedIn. Revnu finds them, gets a work email, checks it before anything is sent, and saves each person to **Leads** with their profile and the reason they fit.

> Find heads of growth at seed and Series A fintech companies in London, with a checked work email for each.

## Where the people come from

Revnu searches hundreds of millions of professional profiles. It looks in its own people database first, then reaches third-party B2B data providers through waterfall enrichment for anyone, or any detail, it doesn't hold yet. Every answer is saved back into Revnu's own database, so the next search starts richer.

People who have asked not to be contacted are left out of every search, for every Revnu customer.

## Every filter you can search by

Combine as many as you like. The more you give Revnu, the closer it lands on the one person who signs off.

| Filter | Ask like this |
|---|---|
| Job title | "heads of operations and COOs", "the person who runs RevOps" |
| Seniority | "founders", "VPs and directors", "C-level only" |
| Company | "at stripe.com", "at the companies on this list" |
| Company type | "at Series A fintech companies", "at Shopify stores that use Klaviyo" |
| Company size | "at companies with 11 to 50 staff" |
| Country | "based in the UK", "in Germany or the Netherlands" |
| City | "in London", "in the San Francisco Bay Area" |
| Past employer | "who used to work at Revolut or Monzo" |
| School | "who studied at Imperial College London" |
| What they post | "posted about cold email deliverability this month" |
| Who they engage with | "commented on this LinkedIn post" |
| A named person | A name plus their company website, or a LinkedIn profile link |

## The right person at the right companies

Most lists start with the companies (see [find companies](/docs/uc-find-companies)) and then the role. Name the titles in the order you'd want them, and Revnu takes the first one each company has.

> Find 30 heads of security at software companies with 51 to 1,000 employees in the San Francisco Bay Area. If there's no head of security, the CTO.

> Find the founder or head of sales at UK software companies that posted a job for an SDR in the last 60 days.

> For every company on my target accounts list, find the VP of marketing and their work email.

## People by career: past employers and schools

Shared history is the warmest opening line there is. Revnu searches the companies a person used to work at and the schools they went to.

> Find heads of growth in London who used to work at Revolut or Monzo.

> Find founders of seed-stage companies who studied at Imperial College London. We're alumni too, so open with that.

> Find people who used to work at Gong and now lead sales at a startup in New York.

## People talking about your problem on LinkedIn

Someone posting about the problem you solve is already halfway to a reply. Revnu searches public LinkedIn posts by topic and recency, from the past day to the past quarter, and can narrow them by the author's job title or industry, by the companies posting, or by the companies a post mentions.

> Find founders at B2B software companies who posted about hiring their first salesperson in the last month.

> Find people posting about cold email deliverability this week, and leave out anyone who sells email tools.

> Find posts that mention our biggest competitor in the last quarter, and the people who wrote them.

## People who engaged with a post

Paste any public LinkedIn post, yours, a competitor's or an influencer's, and Revnu lists everyone who reacted or commented, with their headline and profile.

> Here's a LinkedIn post from our competitor's launch. Add the people who commented on it to Leads, and leave out their own staff.

> Pull everyone who reacted to my last post, and find the ones who work at software companies with more than 20 staff.

## A person's own posts

Before Revnu writes to someone, it can read what they've posted recently, so the first line is about them and not about you.

> Read the last 15 LinkedIn posts from this profile and tell me what they care about before we email them: [profile link]

## People you already know by name

Got a list of names and companies? Revnu finds each person's profile and work email, and checks every address.

> Here are 40 names and their company websites from the conference. Find each person's work email and add them to the Event campaign.

Attach a spreadsheet the same way. See [import leads](/docs/import-leads).

## What every person record carries

Each person comes back with as much of this as is known. Open a lead on **Leads** and go to its **People** tab to see who Revnu found and who it chose to contact.

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Name | Their full name |
| Job title | Their current role |
| Seniority | Founder, C-level, VP, director and so on |
| Company | Where they work now, with the company's domain |
| Location | Where they're based |
| LinkedIn profile | A link to their profile, which is also how Revnu reaches them on LinkedIn |
| Photo | Their profile photo, where one is available |
| Work email | A work address, checked before anything is sent |
| Career | The companies they used to work at, with roles and dates when Revnu looks deeper |
| Education | The schools they attended, with degree and years where known |
| Why they fit | The reason Revnu picked them, with links to its sources |

## How Revnu finds and checks work emails

Revnu runs a waterfall, so you get an address for as many people as possible without anyone guessing:

1. **Revnu's own database.** If it already holds a work email for the person, it uses it.
2. **Third-party B2B data providers, one after another.** When one has no address, Revnu asks the next, and saves whatever it finds back into its own database.
3. **A deliverability check on every address.** Before any email is sent, Revnu checks the address. One that would bounce is never used.
4. **A fallback.** When no personal work email passes, Revnu can use the company's general address from its website, such as hello@. If nothing passes, it marks the lead **Declined** with "no email found" and moves on.

Emails from sending inboxes Revnu sets up for you go only to addresses that pass the full check. See [how Revnu finds and checks emails](/docs/find-leads#how-does-revnu-find-and-check-emails).

## Frequently asked questions

### How many people can Revnu search?

Hundreds of millions of professional profiles. Revnu searches its own people database first and reaches third-party B2B data providers through waterfall enrichment for anyone it doesn't hold yet.

### Are the email addresses verified?

Yes. Revnu checks every address for deliverability before anything is sent, and never sends to one that would bounce. When no personal work email passes, it can use the company's general address, or it declines the lead with "no email found".

### What is waterfall enrichment?

Asking several data sources in turn until one has the answer. Revnu checks its own database first, then third-party B2B data providers one after another, so far more people end up with a checked work email than any single source would give you.

### Can I find people by the company they used to work at?

Yes. Name the past employer and the role they hold now, such as "heads of growth in London who used to work at Revolut". Revnu also searches by the schools people attended.

### Can Revnu find the people who commented on a LinkedIn post?

Yes. Paste the link to any public post and Revnu lists everyone who reacted or commented, with their headline and profile. Ask it to add the ones that fit to Leads and it finds each person's company and a checked work email.

### Does this use my LinkedIn account?

People search runs on Revnu's own database, third-party B2B data providers and public pages, so your LinkedIn stays untouched. Revnu only uses it once you connect it, and only to send what your approval settings allow. See [connect LinkedIn](/docs/connect-linkedin).

### Can I get the email for someone I already know?

Yes. Give Revnu their name and company website, or their LinkedIn profile link. It finds their work email and checks it, the same as for anyone it found itself.

### Will Revnu contact people who opted out?

Revnu leaves anyone who has unsubscribed or asked not to be contacted out of every search, for every Revnu customer, so they never land on your list.
