# How Do I Find Leads in Public Lists Nobody Else Is Using?

> A GTM play for Revnu. Trade association member directories, exhibitor lists, partner directories, licensing registries and public contract award notices are lead lists nobody mines. Give Revnu the link, and it turns the page into researched leads with a reason to write.

The best lead lists aren't for sale. They sit on public pages: a trade association's "find a member" directory, a conference's exhibitor list, a software partner directory, a licensing registry, a list of public contract awards. Revnu reads the page, researches every name on it, and writes with the reason that made them worth finding.

## Why it works

Everyone buys from the same big databases, so everyone emails the same people. A niche public list gets you companies your competitors never see, plus a built-in reason to write: "saw you're a member of [association]", "saw you just won the [contract]", "saw you're a [platform] partner". A specific, true reason beats a generic pitch every time.

## How to run it

1. **Find the list.** Think about where your buyers have to register, exhibit or get certified. Ask Revnu for ideas if you're unsure.
2. **Give Revnu the link.** Paste the public page and say who on it you want.
3. **Research every row.** Revnu reads each company's own website, checks it fits your buyer, and finds the right person and a checked work email.
4. **Use the list as the opener.** The first line names the membership, award or listing.
5. **Approve and send.** Your first sequence waits for you in **Review**.

## The prompt

> Here's a public list of [members / exhibitors / partners / contract winners]: [link]. Add every company on it that fits our buyer to leads. Read each company's website, find the [job title] and their work email, and write an email that opens with how we found them on this list and why it matters to them.

[Try this in Revnu](/sign-up?prompt=Here%27s%20a%20public%20list%20of%20%5Bmembers%20%2F%20exhibitors%20%2F%20partners%20%2F%20contract%20winners%5D%3A%20%5Blink%5D.%20Add%20every%20company%20on%20it%20that%20fits%20our%20buyer%20to%20leads.%20Read%20each%20company%27s%20website%2C%20find%20the%20%5Bjob%20title%5D%20and%20their%20work%20email%2C%20and%20write%20an%20email%20that%20opens%20with%20how%20we%20found%20them%20on%20this%20list%20and%20why%20it%20matters%20to%20them.)

If a page needs your login, Revnu hands that step to you. A list you've downloaded works too: attach the file in chat. See [import your own list](/docs/import-leads).

## Run it every month

Many lists change: new members join, new contracts get awarded, new partners sign up. Make it a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work):

> On the 1st of every month, check [link] for companies that aren't in my leads yet and add the ones that fit our buyer to the [list name] campaign.

See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### What kinds of public lists work?

Trade association member directories, conference exhibitor and sponsor lists, software partner and integration directories, certification and licensing registries, public contract award notices, and "find a provider" pages. If a page lists businesses, Revnu can work from it.

### How do I find lists in my niche?

Ask Revnu: "where do [your buyers] have to register, exhibit or get listed?" It searches the web and suggests lists, then you pick which to work.

### Will Revnu email everyone on the list?

Only the companies that fit your buyer. Revnu reads each company's site first and leaves out the rest.

### What if the list is spread over many pages?

Give Revnu the first page and say "go through every page". It works through them and tells you how many it found.

### Can I mention the list in the email?

Yes, and you should. A true, specific reason for writing is the strongest opener there is. Revnu names the membership, listing or award in the first line.
