# How Do I Reach New Businesses the Week They Register?

> A GTM play for Revnu for accountants, banks, insurers, web designers, payroll and every supplier a new business needs. Company registries publish new incorporations every day. Revnu finds new companies in the trades you serve, checks they're really trading, and writes to the founders.

A brand-new company needs an accountant, a bank, insurance, a website, payroll and a dozen other suppliers, all in its first few months. Company registries publish every new incorporation with its trade, address and directors. Revnu finds the new companies in the trades you serve and reaches the founders first.

## Why it works

A new business owner hasn't picked anyone yet. Whoever reaches them first, with something useful, usually becomes the supplier for years. Registries make the timing exact: the incorporation date, the trade code and the directors are all public.

## How to run it

1. **Pick the trades and areas.** "Restaurants in Manchester", "construction companies in the UK", "dental practices in London".
2. **Read the register.** Revnu finds companies incorporated in your window, with their trade, registered office and directors.
3. **Check they're real.** A registered address isn't proof of trading, so Revnu looks for a website, listing or social profile that shows the business is live.
4. **Find the founder.** The director, with a checked email where one exists.
5. **Write a welcome.** A short note about the first thing a new business in their trade needs, and how you help.

## The prompt

> Find [trade] companies incorporated in [area] in the last 14 days. For each, note the incorporation date, trade and directors, and check for a website or listing that shows they're trading. Find the founder's email. Write a short email that welcomes them and offers help with [the first thing a new business like theirs needs from us].

[Try this in Revnu](https://revnu.com/sign-up?prompt=Find%20%5Btrade%5D%20companies%20incorporated%20in%20%5Barea%5D%20in%20the%20last%2014%20days.%20For%20each%2C%20note%20the%20incorporation%20date%2C%20trade%20and%20directors%2C%20and%20check%20for%20a%20website%20or%20listing%20that%20shows%20they%27re%20trading.%20Find%20the%20founder%27s%20email.%20Write%20a%20short%20email%20that%20welcomes%20them%20and%20offers%20help%20with%20%5Bthe%20first%20thing%20a%20new%20business%20like%20theirs%20needs%20from%20us%5D.)

Each lead keeps the registry record on its **Signals** tab. Your first sequence waits for your approval in **Review**.

## Run it every week

> Every Monday, find [trade] companies incorporated in [area] last week and add the ones that are trading to the New Companies campaign.

Set it up as a [workflow](https://revnu.com/docs/recurring-work.md) once and it runs on its own. See [recurring work with workflows](https://revnu.com/docs/recurring-work.md) and the [workflows API](https://revnu.com/docs/workflows.md).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which registries does this use?

The public company register in each country. In the UK that's Companies House, which publishes every incorporation with its date, trade code, registered office and directors.

### How does Revnu pick the trade?

From the trade code each company files, plus what its name and website say. Describe the trade in plain words and Revnu works out the matching codes.

### What if the company has no website yet?

Common in the first weeks. Revnu looks for a listing or social profile instead, and notes on the lead when it found nothing to prove the business is trading.

### Who sells well with this play?

Accountants and bookkeepers, business banks, insurers, web designers, payroll and HR, office and coworking space, card payments, and anyone whose product a new business buys in its first year.

### Is it fine to email a brand-new company?

Yes, when the email is useful and short. Keep it about what they need now, and make it easy to say "not yet".
