# How Do I Find and Pitch Local Businesses?

> A GTM play for Revnu. Sell to dentists, gyms, clinics, salons or contractors? Revnu pulls every local business of that type in your cities from Google Maps, reads their reviews for the problems customers mention, finds the owner, and writes an email about the problem their own customers raised.

If you sell to dentists, gyms, clinics, salons or contractors, your whole market is on Google Maps, with reviews that tell you exactly what's going wrong. Revnu pulls every business of that type in your cities, reads their reviews, finds the owner and writes about the problem their own customers keep raising.

## Why it works

Local business owners get pitched constantly, all with the same template. A message that quotes their own reviews ("three reviews this month mention waiting on hold") shows you looked, and points at a problem they already feel. The list is complete, too: every business of that type in the city, not just the few in a database.

## How to run it

1. **Pick the type and the cities.** "Physiotherapy clinics in Manchester, Leeds and Bristol."
2. **Pull the listings.** Revnu's scrapers collect each business from Google Maps: name, website, rating and review count.
3. **Read the reviews.** Revnu looks for the problem you solve in their recent reviews: slow replies, missed bookings, no online booking, a dated website.
4. **Find the owner.** Revnu reads each business's website for the owner or manager and finds a checked email.
5. **Write from their reviews.** One line on what their customers said, one on how you fix it, and an easy next step.

## The prompt

> Find [type of business] in [cities] on Google Maps. For each one, read their recent reviews and note any that mention [the problem you solve]. Keep the businesses where it comes up. Find the owner or manager and their email, and write a short email that mentions what their customers said and how we fix it. Offer [a free audit / a free trial].

[Try this in Revnu](/sign-up?prompt=Find%20%5Btype%20of%20business%5D%20in%20%5Bcities%5D%20on%20Google%20Maps.%20For%20each%20one%2C%20read%20their%20recent%20reviews%20and%20note%20any%20that%20mention%20%5Bthe%20problem%20you%20solve%5D.%20Keep%20the%20businesses%20where%20it%20comes%20up.%20Find%20the%20owner%20or%20manager%20and%20their%20email%2C%20and%20write%20a%20short%20email%20that%20mentions%20what%20their%20customers%20said%20and%20how%20we%20fix%20it.%20Offer%20%5Ba%20free%20audit%20%2F%20a%20free%20trial%5D.)

Every business lands on **Leads** with the reviews that qualified it on its **Signals** tab. Your first sequence waits for your yes in **Review**.

## Run it every week

Work through a new city each week with a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work):

> Every Monday, take the next city from my list, find [type of business] there on Google Maps, keep the ones whose reviews mention [the problem], and add them to the Local campaign.

See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which kinds of businesses does this work for?

Any business with a public listing and reviews: dental and medical clinics, gyms, salons, restaurants, home services, law firms, agencies. If your buyers show up on Google Maps, this play fits.

### What if a business has no reviews about my problem?

Ask Revnu to keep it anyway with a different reason, such as a missing booking button or a slow website. Revnu reads the site and uses what it finds.

### Can I quote their reviews word for word?

A short paraphrase reads better: "a few reviews mention waiting on hold". It shows you looked without sounding like you're keeping score.

### How does Revnu find the owner's email?

From the business's own website and contact pages, then Revnu checks the address before sending. Businesses with no findable owner or email are left out.

### Is this good for agencies?

Very. Agencies selling websites, SEO, ads or booking tools can run it city by city and quote each business's own customers back to them.
