# How Do I Use Job Posts to Find Companies That Need Me?

> A GTM play for Revnu. A job post tells you a company's problem, its budget and the tools it uses. Revnu finds companies hiring for the role you help with, reads each posting, and writes an email built from what the company said it needs.

A job post is a company telling the world what's broken, what they'll pay to fix it, and which tools they use. They wrote half your cold email for you. Revnu finds the companies hiring for the problem you solve and turns each posting into a message about exactly that.

## Why it works

Companies hire when a problem gets too big to ignore. Hiring three SDRs means pipeline is the priority. A first sales ops hire means the process is breaking. A posting that names your competitor means they're already paying for the category. Each one is a budget line with a deadline, and the description gives you their own words to write back with.

## How to run it

1. **Name the roles.** Tell Revnu which hires mean a company needs you, such as "first marketing hire", "SDRs", "head of operations", or "any role that mentions [competitor]".
2. **Find the postings.** Revnu searches live and indexed job posts for those roles in your market, with dates.
3. **Read each posting.** Revnu pulls out the problem, the goals, the tools named and the team size.
4. **Find the buyer.** Usually the hiring manager or the person the new hire reports to, with a checked work email.
5. **Write from their words.** The email mentions the role and offers to get them results before the hire ramps up.
6. **Run it weekly.** New postings every week mean new companies with fresh budget.

## The prompt

> Find companies in [your market] that posted a job for [role] in the last 30 days. Read each posting and note the problem they're hiring to solve and any tools they name. Find the person the role reports to and their work email. Write an email that mentions the role, uses what the posting says they need, and offers to get them results while they hire.

[Try this in Revnu](/sign-up?prompt=Find%20companies%20in%20%5Byour%20market%5D%20that%20posted%20a%20job%20for%20%5Brole%5D%20in%20the%20last%2030%20days.%20Read%20each%20posting%20and%20note%20the%20problem%20they%27re%20hiring%20to%20solve%20and%20any%20tools%20they%20name.%20Find%20the%20person%20the%20role%20reports%20to%20and%20their%20work%20email.%20Write%20an%20email%20that%20mentions%20the%20role%2C%20uses%20what%20the%20posting%20says%20they%20need%2C%20and%20offers%20to%20get%20them%20results%20while%20they%20hire.)

Each lead keeps the job post on its **Signals** tab with its date and link. Your first sequence waits for your approval in **Review**.

## Run it every week

> Every Monday, find companies that posted a [role] job in the last week, read the postings, and add the ones that fit our buyer to the Hiring campaign.

Set it up as a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work) once and it runs on its own. See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which job posts make the best signals?

Roles you can do part of, or help succeed: a first marketing hire for a growth tool, SDRs for a pipeline tool, a data engineer for a data product. A posting that names a competitor is a strong switch signal too.

### Who should the email go to?

Usually the hiring manager or the leader the role reports to, because they own the problem today. Tell Revnu if you'd rather reach the founder at small companies.

### Does a job post mean the role is still open?

The post carries a date, which Revnu shows on the lead. Ask for the last 30 days to keep it recent. Even a filled role tells you the problem was real and the budget exists.

### Can I combine hiring with other signals?

Yes. "Hiring account executives and raised in the last six months" gives a sharper list than either alone. Say every signal in one message.

### Will the email feel creepy?

Job posts are written to be read. Mentioning one is normal and shows you did your homework. Keep it about their goal, not about knowing their business.
