> A GTM play for Revnu. Find the one and two star reviews of your competitors from the last 90 days, on review sites and Reddit, work out who wrote them and where they work, and send a short email about the exact thing they complained about.

Somebody just spent ten minutes writing a one star review of your competitor. They're frustrated, they're specific, and they're ready to hear about something better. Revnu finds those reviews, works out who wrote them, and sends a short note about the exact problem they described.

## Why it works

A bad review is a public complaint with the reason written down. You don't have to guess what to say: they told you. "Saw your review of [competitor], the part about [problem]" proves you read it, and if you solve that problem, the reply nearly writes itself. Recent reviews matter most, because the frustration is fresh and the renewal is coming.

## How to run it

1. **Name the competitors.** Give Revnu the products your buyers switch away from.
2. **Collect the reviews.** Revnu's scrapers pull public reviews from the last 90 days, keeping the one and two star ones, plus Reddit threads complaining about the product.
3. **Find the reviewer.** When a review shows the person's name, role or company, Revnu identifies them, checks they fit your buyer and finds a checked work email.
4. **Write about their complaint.** One line on what they said, one line on how you handle it, and an easy next step.
5. **Send while it's fresh.** Reviews from the last few days go out first.

## The prompt

> Find one and two star reviews of [competitor] from the last 90 days on review sites, plus Reddit threads complaining about it. For every reviewer whose name or company is shown, check they fit our buyer and find their work email. Write a short email that opens with what they complained about and explains how we handle it. Offer [a free trial / a migration call]. Send the newest reviews first.

Each lead keeps the review on its **Signals** tab, so you can read exactly what they said before you approve the sequence in **Review**.

## Run it every week

New reviews land every week. Make it a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work):

> Every Monday, check for new one and two star reviews of [competitor A] and [competitor B] from the last week, find the reviewers who fit our buyer, and add them to the Unhappy Reviewers campaign.

See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which review sites does Revnu read?

Public review sites for software and services, app store reviews, and Reddit threads. Tell Revnu where your competitors get reviewed and it starts there.

### What if the review is anonymous?

Revnu works from reviews that show a name, a role or a company. Anonymous complaints still teach Revnu what to say: it uses the common complaints to sharpen copy for the whole campaign.

### Should the email trash the competitor?

Keep it about their problem. "You mentioned [problem]. Here's how we handle it" reads as helpful. Knocking the competitor reads as a pitch.

### How far back should I go?

The last 90 days is a good window. Older reviewers have often switched already or made peace with it. A weekly run keeps you on the freshest ones.

### Can I use reviews of my own product too?

Yes, in a different way: ask Revnu to summarise what customers love and complain about, then use the praise in your copy and your [Memory](/docs/memory).
