# How Do I Turn a Competitor's LinkedIn Commenters Into Leads?

> A GTM play for Revnu. List the LinkedIn profiles of 10 or more competitor founders, pull their recent posts, collect everyone who commented or reacted, keep the real buyers who fit your ICP, find verified emails and open with the comment they left. Run it daily for fresh leads.

Your competitors' founders post every week, and your buyers raise their hands in the comments. Revnu reads those posts, collects everyone who commented or reacted, keeps the real buyers, finds their work emails and opens with the comment they left. Every day, fresh.

## Why it works

Someone who comments on a post about your category is telling you, in public, that they care about the problem right now. That's warmer than any list you can buy. And "saw your comment on [founder]'s post about [topic]" is an opener nobody ignores, because it's true and it's about them.

## How to run it

1. **List the profiles.** Give Revnu 10 or more LinkedIn profile links: competitor founders, their heads of marketing, anyone whose posts your buyers read.
2. **Pull the posts.** Revnu reads each profile's posts from the last few weeks.
3. **Collect the engagers.** For each post, Revnu lists everyone who commented or reacted, with their headline and comment.
4. **Keep the real buyers.** Revnu drops spam, recruiters, the competitor's own staff and anyone outside your buyer profile, and checks each remaining person's company fits.
5. **Find the email.** Revnu finds a checked work email for each buyer.
6. **Write the opener.** "Saw your comment on [founder]'s post about [topic]", then one line on why you're worth a reply.
7. **Run it daily.** New posts mean new commenters. A daily workflow keeps the leads coming.

## The prompt

> Here are the LinkedIn profiles of founders in my space: [profile links]. Pull their posts from the last 3 weeks and list everyone who commented or reacted. Keep only real buyers who fit our ICP: no spam, no recruiters, no one who works at these companies. Find verified work emails and write emails that open with "saw your comment on [founder]'s post about [topic]". Skip anyone already in my leads.

Revnu reads public posts with its own scrapers, so it doesn't need your LinkedIn account to collect the engagers. Each lead keeps the post and the comment on its **Signals** tab. To add a LinkedIn message as well as email, [connect LinkedIn](/docs/connect-linkedin) and ask for both.

## Run it every day

Set it up as a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work):

> Every weekday at 8am, check new posts from the founders on my list, collect anyone who commented or reacted since yesterday, keep the buyers who fit our ICP, and add them to the Competitor Commenters campaign.

Add or remove profiles any time by telling Revnu. See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Revnu need my LinkedIn login to scrape comments?

Collecting works without it. Revnu reads public posts and the people who engaged with them. You only connect your LinkedIn if you want Revnu to send connection requests and messages as you.

### Which profiles should I list?

Founders and leaders of competitors, plus anyone your buyers follow for advice on the problem you solve. Ten is a good start. More profiles mean more posts and more fresh commenters each day.

### Do reactions count, or only comments?

Both. Comments are warmer, because the person said something you can quote. Reactions add volume. Ask for "comments only" if you want the sharpest list.

### How does Revnu decide who is a real buyer?

It reads each person's headline and company, drops recruiters, students, sellers and the competitor's own team, and checks the company against your buyer profile in **Settings > Memory**. Anyone who fails is left out, not emailed.

### Will people mind being contacted about a public comment?

The comment is public and the opener is honest about where you saw it. Keep the message short, useful and about their comment, and offer something easy to say yes to.
