# How Do I Turn My Last Closed Deal Into More Deals?

> A GTM play for Revnu. Take your latest closed deal, work out what was happening at that company the week they said yes, find every company in the same industry with the same thing happening now, and open with why they match and who you just closed.

Your last closed deal is the best lead list you own. Something was happening at that company the week they said yes. Revnu finds every company in the same industry where the same thing is happening right now, and writes to them with proof you just solved it for someone like them.

## Why it works

A company buys when something changes: they hire for the problem, raise a round, open a new market, or bring in a new leader with a mandate. Those moments repeat across an industry. If one company bought the week it started hiring its first sales team, the next ten companies starting that hire are your warmest prospects.

The email writes itself, too. "We just helped a company like yours through exactly this" beats any feature list. Pair it with a low barrier to start, such as a generous free trial or credits, and saying yes costs them nothing.

## How to run it

1. **Pick your latest closed deal.** Tell Revnu the company and, in a sentence, why they bought.
2. **Find the trigger.** Revnu researches what was happening at that company around the date they signed: job posts, a fresh funding round, headcount growth, a new market on their website, a new leader announced on LinkedIn.
3. **Find the lookalikes.** Revnu searches its own database and public sources for companies in the same industry with the same trigger happening now, then reads each company's site to confirm the fit.
4. **Find the right person.** For each company, Revnu finds the person who owns the problem and a checked work email.
5. **Write the opener.** Each first line says why this company matches and who you just closed (by type, or by name if your customer says yes to that).
6. **Lower the barrier.** Tell Revnu your offer, such as a free trial, credits or a free setup call, and it goes in every email.
7. **Repeat with every new deal.** Each close teaches Revnu a new trigger to hunt for.

## The prompt

> We just closed a deal with [customer company]. They bought because [why they bought]. Research what was happening at their company the week they signed (hiring, a new hire, a fresh round, a new market). Then find 25 companies in the same industry with the same thing happening right now, find the person who owns this problem at each, and write emails that open with why they're a match and that we just helped a company like them. Offer [a free trial / credits / a free setup call]. Skip anyone already in my leads.

Revnu saves every company to **Leads** with the matching trigger on its **Signals** tab, so you can check the reason before anything goes out. Your first sequence waits for your approval in **Review**.

## Run it every week

Every new closed deal is a fresh trigger. Set it up once as a [workflow](/docs/recurring-work):

> Every Monday, look at the deals we closed last week, work out what triggered each one, and find 20 new companies with the same trigger happening now. Add them to the Lookalikes campaign.

Revnu runs it on schedule and reports what it found. See [recurring work with workflows](/docs/recurring-work) and the [workflows API](/docs/workflows).

## Frequently asked questions

### What counts as a trigger?

Anything you can see from outside that changed at the company before they bought: a job post for a role you help, a funding round, headcount growth, a new office or market on their website, a new leader announcing their move on LinkedIn. Revnu shows the evidence for each one on the lead's **Signals** tab.

### Do I have to name my customer in the email?

Only if they're happy to be named. Otherwise tell Revnu to describe them by type, such as "a 40-person logistics company in Leeds". The match still lands.

### How many lookalikes can one deal find?

It depends on how common the trigger is in that industry. A broad trigger like "raised a seed round" finds plenty. A narrow one like "hired their first head of operations" finds fewer, sharper leads. Ask for a number and Revnu says how many it found.

### What offer should I use?

The one that makes yes easiest: a generous free trial, credits, a free onboarding call or a done-for-you setup. Tell Revnu once and it writes the offer into every email in the campaign.

### Can I run this on more than one closed deal at once?

Yes. Paste a list of your recent closed deals with a line on why each bought. Revnu finds the trigger for each and builds a campaign per trigger, so every email speaks to the right moment.
