# How Do Revnu's Emails Look When They Arrive?

> What a Revnu email looks like in the recipient's inbox. Plain text with paragraphs and line breaks, links, what happens to images and attachments, where to see the real email before and after it sends, why some emails sit in Gmail Drafts, and what to do if an email arrives as one block of text.

Revnu's emails arrive as plain, personal-looking email: short paragraphs separated by a blank line, with links as ordinary web addresses. There's no bold, no headings, no logo and no template, so it reads like a note you typed yourself.

To see exactly what a person got, open the email in your mailbox's **Sent** folder.

## What can a Revnu email contain?

| In the email | Supported? | How it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| Paragraphs and line breaks | Yes | Each line break stays a line break. Extra blank lines are squeezed to one, so paragraphs are always one blank line apart |
| Links | Yes | Written out as the web address. Email apps make it clickable. If open and click tracking is on for the sending address, the link goes through your tracking address first. See [what your numbers mean](/docs/results-explained) |
| Bold, italics, headings, bullet styling | No | Revnu writes plain text. A list is just lines that start with a dash |
| An image inside the email | Sometimes | Revnu can place an image that's already online, such as a mockup at a web address, inside the email. Ask for it. The **Review** card shows only the text, so check the image in your mailbox's Drafts or Sent folder |
| A file attachment (PDF, deck, spreadsheet) | No | Revnu can't attach files. Put the file somewhere shareable and ask Revnu to include the link |
| Your email signature | No | Revnu signs off in the text itself, as the person who owns the mailbox. Your Gmail or Outlook signature isn't added. See [who the emails come from](/docs/sequences#who-do-the-emails-come-from) |

From a mailbox you connect, the email goes out as plain text. When open and click tracking is on for that address, it goes out as simple HTML built line for line from the same text, so it looks the same.

## Where do I see the real email?

- **Before it sends:** the **Review** card shows the email's text as it will go, line breaks included. Click the card to open it in full.
- **While it waits:** many first emails and follow-ups also sit in your mailbox's **Drafts** folder until they send. That's the closest preview of what lands, images included.
- **After it sends:** your mailbox's **Sent** folder holds the exact email the person received. In the dashboard, **Inbox** has a **Sent** view too, which also covers sending inboxes Revnu bought for you.

## Seeing Revnu's emails in Gmail Drafts?

> **Tip:** Approve emails in **Review** rather than sending them from your Drafts folder. It's just as quick, and Revnu keeps track of the lead.

Replies to prospects never appear in Drafts. They wait in **Review** only. See [connect Gmail or Outlook](/docs/connect-email#can-i-send-the-emails-in-my-drafts-myself).

## Looks like one block of text?

If an email arrives, or sits in Drafts, as one long paragraph, or you see `\n` written out in the text:

### 1. Hold the rest of that sequence

Don't approve more emails from that sequence yet. Open the next one in **Review** and check its line breaks.

### 2. Tell Revnu which email it was

Paste a screenshot of how it arrived, with a note like:

> This email to Sam arrived as one paragraph. Rewrite it with a blank line between paragraphs.

Revnu rewrites the copy.

### 3. Email support if it happens again

Email support@revnu.com with the time the email went out and the address it went to.

This is a known issue. An email can be saved with the characters `\n` where a line break should be, and it then arrives on one line with `\n` showing. The **Review** card shows the same text, so you can catch it there before you approve.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are Revnu's emails plain text or HTML?

Plain text from a mailbox you connect. When open and click tracking is on for that address, Revnu sends simple HTML built line for line from the same text, so it looks the same. With no template, logo or bold, it reads like a personal email.

### Why did my email arrive as one big paragraph?

Usually because the copy was saved without real line breaks. Tell Revnu which email it was, with a screenshot, and ask it to rewrite with a blank line between paragraphs. Check the next one in Review before you approve it. If it repeats, email support@revnu.com with the time.

### Can Revnu add images or attach a PDF to an email?

Revnu places an image that's already online inside the email when you ask. For a PDF or other file, share it as a link and ask Revnu to include it.

### How do I preview exactly what the recipient will see?

The Review card shows the text with its line breaks. For first emails and follow-ups, the draft in your mailbox's Drafts folder shows the full email, images included. After it sends, your Sent folder has the exact copy.

### Should I send the drafts in my Gmail Drafts folder?

No. Approve the email in Review. Revnu sends its own copy and removes the draft, so sending it yourself can email the person twice.

### Does Revnu add my email signature?

Revnu signs off in the email text as the person who owns the mailbox, in place of your Gmail or Outlook signature.
