# Connect X Ads

> Connect your X (Twitter) Ads account so Revnu can build image ads for your approval. Which X login to use, why Revnu can't see an account until billing is active, and the X Pixel you create once.

You connect X Ads from **Connections**. Sign in with your company's X account, not a personal one, and make sure the X Ads account has an active payment method. X hides an ad account from apps until its billing works.

Connecting alone never launches an ad or spends money.

## How do I connect X Ads?

### 1. Open Connections

In the dashboard, open **Connections** and find the **Advertise** group.

### 2. Press Connect on X Ads

Press **Connect** on the **X Ads** row.

### 3. Sign in with your company's X account

Sign in with your organisation's X handle and authorize Revnu.

### 4. Open Ads

Open **Ads**. Revnu checks for an ad account and an active payment method. This check is read-only. When it passes, **Ads** shows **Create Your First Campaign**.

### 5. Choose the ad account

If Revnu finds several X Ads accounts, **Ads** says **Choose the X Ads Account to Use**. Press **Choose an Account**, then press **Choose Account** on the **X Ads** row in **Connections** and pick one.

> **Note:** Once you approve a launch, X bills the payment method on your X Ads account. Your [Monthly Ads Budget](/docs/ad-budgets) caps what Revnu spends across every channel.

## Which X account should I sign in with?

Your company's X account, the one your ads should come from. If you sign in with a personal account, **Ads** shows **Wrong X Account** and a **Switch X Account** button. Press it, then sign in with the organisation handle.

## What you'll see once it's connected

- The **Connections** row says **Using** and the account name.
- **Ads** moves from setup to **Create Your First Campaign**.
- Campaigns start paused. Launching and the budget wait for your approval.
- Each X image ad shows a headline on the image, written for your buyers. If an ad has none, X shows your landing page's domain instead.
- Revnu won't launch an X campaign until an outcome is set up in **Ads > Revnu Tag**. See [set up outcomes](/docs/set-up-outcomes).

## The X Pixel

X only lets you create a Pixel by hand. If your X Ads account has none, the X row under **Manage Ad Channels** in **Ads > Revnu Tag** asks you to create one in X's Events Manager. Revnu does everything after that: it finds the Pixel and sends your confirmed results to it.

## If it doesn't work

| **We Couldn't Verify X Billing** | The setup check didn't finish. Your connection is still saved. Press **Check Again** |

## Frequently asked questions

### Why can't Revnu find my X Ads account?

X hides an ads account from apps until its payment method is active. Finish billing in X Ads, then check again from the Ads page.

### Should I connect my personal X account or my company's?

Your company's. If you connect a personal account, the Ads page says Wrong X Account and lets you switch.

### Do I need an X Pixel?

Yes. You create it in X's Events Manager, and once it exists Revnu sends your results to it.

### How many ads does Revnu put in one X campaign?

Up to five. That's Revnu's own rule, so each ad gets enough of the budget to be judged. More images go in another campaign.

### Can Revnu add a new ad to an X campaign that's already live?

Yes, in a new paused campaign alongside it. Revnu adds ads to paused campaigns, so for a live one it builds the new ad in a separate paused campaign, and launching that waits for your approval.

### Who pays for X ads?

You do. X bills the payment method on your ads account. See [ad budgets and who pays](/docs/ad-budgets).

### Is there a minimum budget for X ads?

Revnu's minimum is a Monthly Ads Budget of 50 in your account's currency, with no separate X floor on top. Every channel's floor is in [ad budgets](/docs/ad-budgets#what-is-the-smallest-budget-each-channel-will-run).
