# Control What Gets Published

> On Pro, Revnu's posts publish on their own after a hold unless you choose Ask Me First. How to review posts first, the three-draft limit, getting more than one post a day, undoing an edit to a live post, taking posts down, writing your own, images, house rules and private articles you won't publish.

On Pro, Revnu's posts publish on their own: a finished post goes live at 9:00 on the first weekday at least 24 hours after it's ready. To read each one first, set **Blog Posts** to **Ask Me First**. Either way, you can edit, replace or take down any post at any time.

Up to three of Revnu's drafts can wait for you at once. While three are waiting, the daily post pauses until you approve, publish or discard one.

## Review first, or let posts publish

### 1. Open your approval settings

Open **Settings** and choose the **Agent** tab. Find **What Needs Your Approval**.

### 2. Choose how Blog Posts publish

Switch the **Blog Posts** row on for **Just Do It**, or off for **Ask Me First**.

![Settings > Agent, What Needs Your Approval. Blog Posts is the first row, with its Ask Me First switch on the right](/docs/screens/settings-approvals.webp)

| Blog Posts setting | What happens to a finished post |
|---|---|
| **Just Do It** (the Pro default) | It publishes at 9:00 on the first weekday at least 24 hours away, in your time zone. Until then you can read it, edit it or discard it. |
| **Ask Me First** | It waits until you approve it. Nothing publishes without your click. |

### 3. Find posts waiting for you

Every finished post lands in **Review**, and in **Visibility > Posts** marked **Awaiting Approval**.

### 4. Approve or discard each post

Open the post and click **Approve & Publish**, or approve its card in **Review**. If you edited it first, the button reads **Save & Approve**. To drop a post, click **Discard Draft**.

**Approve & Publish** also puts a post live straight away during its Just Do It waiting period.

> **Note:** **Ask Me First** stops publishing, not writing. Revnu keeps drafting one post a day for you to approve, until three are waiting. To stop the writing, see [Stop or slow the daily post](#stop-or-slow-the-daily-post).

The setting also covers Revnu's edits to posts that are already live. More on approvals: [What Revnu asks before it acts](/docs/approvals).

## What switching the setting does to drafts already waiting

The change applies to drafts already waiting, not only to new ones:

- **Switching to Just Do It** gives every waiting draft a publish time: 9:00 on the first weekday at least 24 hours after you switch. If you don't want one of them live, open it and click **Discard Draft** before then.
- **Switching to Ask Me First** takes the publish time off every waiting draft. Nothing is deleted. Each one waits for your **Approve & Publish**.

A post marked **Needs Verification** never publishes on its own under either setting. It waits for you.

**Can posts go live without the waiting period?**

Yes, with a second, separate switch you can only flip in chat. Say "stop holding posts for review" and new posts go live as soon as they pass the fact-check, with no waiting period. Revnu only makes that change on your own message, and it doesn't touch drafts already waiting. Say "hold posts for review again" to go back.

**You can't pick the publish time**

Under Just Do It, posts publish at 9:00 in your time zone, never at another hour such as 6pm. To publish at a time you choose, set **Blog Posts** to **Ask Me First** and click **Approve & Publish** at that moment. The post goes live straight away.

## How often Revnu posts

Once your blog is connected and checked, Revnu writes one post a day on its own. One a day is the most it does on its own, on purpose. With Search Console connected, it checks that its recent posts are indexed before writing more, and it holds off when they aren't. That pace gives Google time to crawl each post and gives you time to read them. If you want fewer, say so: "two posts a week is plenty."

On some days Revnu deepens an existing post that already ranks instead of writing a new one. When it does, it tells you what it did with that day and why.

**How many posts make sense on a new domain?**

One a day is the ceiling, and on a young domain quality matters more than volume. A few useful posts that answer real buyer questions do more than a pile of thin ones, and Google takes weeks to crawl and trust a new site whatever you publish. Let Revnu set the pace, and judge results over months. [Will Google penalise AI-written posts?](/docs/ai-written-posts) explains why bulk publishing backfires.

**Can I get more than one post a day, or follow my own content plan?**

Yes, one post at a time. Revnu writes an extra post only when you ask for it directly in chat, each time: "write a post on onboarding checklists today."

- **Each extra needs its own ask.** A list of 100 titles is a plan Revnu can work through with you, but it won't turn it into several posts a day on its own. Send the titles and ask for the next one when you want it.
- **A workflow can't raise the pace.** A [workflow](/docs/recurring-work) or scheduled task runs as Revnu's own work, so it's held to one post a day like the daily post. Only your own message unlocks an extra.
- **Extras still count toward the three waiting drafts.** An extra you ask for isn't blocked by the limit, but while it waits for approval it's one of the three, so the daily post may pause.
- **Pro has a daily work limit.** It covers work Revnu starts itself, posts included, and can hold the daily post back until the next day. Details: [plan limits](/docs/plans).

## Stop or slow the daily post

The daily post is a scheduled task Revnu sets for itself. It isn't a workflow, so it won't be on the **Workflows** page unless you made one.

- **To stop it,** tell Revnu in chat: "stop the daily blog post."
- **To slow it down,** say how often you want posts.

It also shows on **Home**, in the list of what Revnu has scheduled next, where you can cancel it.

## Why posts stop coming

- **Your site isn't connected or the check failed.** Revnu doesn't start the daily post until your site serves posts correctly. The fix list is in **Review**.
- **Three drafts are waiting.** Up to three of Revnu's finished posts can wait for you at once, including any marked **Needs Verification**. Approve, publish or discard one and it carries on. Editing a draft doesn't free the slot.
- **Your account is paused.** A failed payment or a cancelled plan stops all new work.
- **Recent posts aren't indexed yet.** With Search Console connected, Revnu checks that its last few posts are in Google before writing more, and tells you when it holds off.

[Why isn't my post live?](/docs/blog-not-publishing) walks through each one.

## Fix a wrong fact once

Revnu writes every post from **Settings > Memory > Product Facts**. If a post gets something wrong about your product, fix it there. The fix applies to posts written from then on. It doesn't change posts already written. Short, literal lines work best, for example "Minimum plan: 5 seats" or "The desktop app is discontinued". Or tell Revnu in chat, and it records the fact so later posts don't repeat it:

> We stopped offering the free plan. Remember that for every post from now on.

Then ask it to clean up the posts already live:

> Find every post that mentions the free plan and fix it.

Those edits to live posts follow your Blog Posts setting. How each post is checked: [Will Google penalise AI-written posts?](/docs/ai-written-posts)

## Edit a live post

- **In the editor.** Open the post in **Visibility > Posts** and change the title, body, FAQ or meta description. Click **Save Now**. The change goes live at the same URL, and Revnu asks search engines to recrawl it.
- **In chat.** "In the pricing post, change $20 to $25." Revnu edits the live post in place when you ask. A change Revnu suggests on its own follows your Blog Posts setting.
- **Change the URL.** In the editor's **Metadata** panel, change **URL Slug**. The old address redirects permanently to the new one, so the post keeps what it has earned.

## Undo an edit Revnu made to a live post

Revnu doesn't keep earlier versions of a post's text, so there's no restore button. The editor's **Undo** only reaches back through changes you made in the current editing session. To put a post back:

1. **If you have the old text,** for example in your own site's build, a copy saved through the Content API, or an email or chat message that quoted it, paste it into the editor and click **Save Now**.
2. **If you don't,** tell Revnu in chat what the passage should say: "the setup section of the onboarding post was right before, put back that it takes two steps." It rewrites that passage, checked against your Product Facts like any other edit.
3. **Stop it happening again.** Add the fact to **Product Facts**, so the fact-check treats it as true about your company. To read every future change to a live post before it lands, set **Blog Posts** to **Ask Me First**.

If an edit Revnu made broke a post, email support@revnu.com with the post's URL, the time it changed and what was lost. Revnu can't file that report for you from chat.

## Take a post down right now

Open the post and click **Delete**. On the hosted blog it disappears straight away and its URL starts returning "not found". A site using the Content API drops it on its next fetch or rebuild. Search engines take a few weeks to remove it from results.

> **Warning:** Deleting can't be undone by you. Only Revnu's team can bring a deleted post back, and nothing redirects from the old URL, so its rankings and any AI answer citing it are lost. If the problem is a wrong fact or a wrong address, edit the post or change its URL instead.

Other posts may link to the one you delete, and those links will then lead to "not found". Ask Revnu first: "which posts link to the pricing post? Remove those links." Then delete.

To get rid of a draft that never went live, click **Discard Draft**. You can restore a discarded draft from its editor link, or ask Revnu to bring it back.

If a post Revnu published caused real harm, email support@revnu.com as well as taking it down.

## Pause posts after a legal complaint

If you've had a cease and desist letter, a takedown request or a complaint about a post:

1. Open **Settings > Agent** and set **Blog Posts** to **Ask Me First**. Nothing new publishes and waiting drafts lose their publish time.
2. Take the post down now, or edit the passage (see [Take a post down right now](#take-a-post-down-right-now)).
3. Add the company, product or claim to **Settings > Memory > Never Say**, so it never appears in a new post.
4. Clear the drafts already waiting. Ask Revnu "which waiting drafts mention Acme?", then open each one from **Review** or **Visibility > Posts** and click **Discard Draft**.
5. Tell Revnu in chat what happened. Ask it which live posts mention the same company or claim, and fix or remove those too. Never Say doesn't clean up posts already published.

You're the publisher of your blog. If comparison posts about named competitors worry you, keep **Blog Posts** on **Ask Me First** and read each one before it goes live. When you're ready, switch back to **Just Do It** in the same place.

## Write or paste your own post

1. Open **Visibility > Posts** and click **New Post**.
2. Type, or paste a markdown file. Headings and lists come through as formatting, and frontmatter is stripped.
3. Click **Approve & Publish** when it's ready. Your own post goes live the moment you click, with no waiting period, whatever your Blog Posts setting.

Your own posts never count as Revnu's work in your reports, and they don't use the daily post or the three-draft limit. Revnu also won't write a second post on a topic you've already covered.

## Write a post from your own document

Have a whitepaper, a talk or a customer guide you want turned into a post? Attach it in chat and say what you want: "turn this into a post for operations leads, focused on the setup steps."

You can attach up to 10 files to one message, each up to 10 MB: PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV or a text file. Old `.doc` and `.ppt` files aren't read, so save them in the newer format.

Revnu reads the document and writes the post from it. The post goes through the same fact-check as every other post, then lands in **Review** and **Visibility > Posts**. If the document states product facts that aren't in **Product Facts** yet, add them there first (or ask Revnu to), or the check may cut those claims. A scanned PDF that's only images may not be readable. Paste the text into the chat instead. More on files: [Talk to Revnu](/docs/talk-to-revnu).

**Want an article you won't publish?**

Ask for it in chat and say it shouldn't go on your blog: "write a post on our pricing model as a file, don't publish it." Revnu writes and fact-checks it the same way, never publishes it, and sends it into the chat as an `.mdx` file you can open in any text editor. It doesn't appear in **Visibility > Posts**.

It counts as a post written that day, so the daily post may skip that day. It doesn't count toward the three waiting drafts.

## Change images

Each post has one hero image, in the **Hero Image** panel of the editor. Click **Upload One** to use your own, or **Generate One** (**Regenerate** once it has one) for a new one. You can also ask in chat: "make the hero image for the onboarding post less corporate."

You can change a hero image but not remove it. The editor has no remove button, and no button for images inside the body text.

**Don't want AI images?** Upload your own on each post. A Memory note such as "no AI images" isn't guaranteed to be followed, because Revnu generates a hero image for every post it writes. For a post that must have no hero image at all, email support@revnu.com.

## House rules with Never Say

**Settings > Memory > Never Say** is your list of things that must never appear in a post: a claim, a word, a product you've retired, a promise you can't keep. One per line. Revnu checks every new draft against it when writing and again afterwards. A draft that breaks a rule is stopped, and Revnu fixes the wording before it asks you to approve it.

Never Say and other house rules apply to posts written after you add them. They don't change posts already live. To clean those up, ask Revnu: "find any live post that mentions the old pricing and fix it."

A one-off instruction in chat ("don't add a troubleshooting section to this one") applies to that post. For a rule about every post, put it in **Never Say** if it's something that must never appear. For house style, put it in one of your business sections in **Settings > Memory**, such as the one about your company. Revnu reads those when it plans each post. Read the section afterwards to check the rule landed.

The author name and photo on your posts are in **Visibility > Publishing Settings**.

## Competitor claims

Revnu writes comparison posts from each competitor's current public documentation. It compares how things work rather than declaring winners, and it doesn't publish ranked lists that put you first. To keep a competitor out entirely, add a line to **Never Say**, for example "Never mention Acme". A rule about a company covers its products too.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do Revnu's blog posts publish without my approval?

On Pro, yes by default. Blog Posts starts on Just Do It, so a finished post publishes at 9:00 on the first weekday at least 24 hours after it's ready, unless you stop it. Switch Blog Posts to Ask Me First in **Settings > Agent** and nothing publishes until you approve it.

### How do I turn on auto-publish?

Set **Blog Posts** to **Just Do It** in **Settings > Agent > What Needs Your Approval**. It's already the default on Pro. The fact-check and your Never Say list still apply to every post. If you haven't set up your own site, posts publish on your Revnu-hosted blog. If you have but your site isn't fetching posts yet, they show as **Not on site yet** until it does.

### Does Ask Me First stop Revnu writing posts?

It pauses publishing only. Revnu keeps drafting a post a day until three are waiting for you. To stop the writing, tell Revnu "stop the daily blog post."

### If I switch Blog Posts to Just Do It, will the drafts already waiting publish?

Yes. Every waiting draft gets a publish time of 9:00 on the first weekday at least 24 hours after you switch. Discard any you don't want live before then.

### Can I schedule a post for a specific time?

Yes. Keep Blog Posts on Ask Me First and click **Approve & Publish** at the moment you want the post live. Under Just Do It, posts go out at 9:00 your time.

### Can Revnu write three posts a day?

Yes. Ask for each extra post in chat and Revnu writes it. On its own it writes one a day, which a workflow keeps to, and extras count toward the three drafts that can wait for approval.

### How do I stop posts publishing after a legal complaint?

Set **Blog Posts** to **Ask Me First** in **Settings > Agent**, delete or edit the post in question, add the company or claim to **Settings > Memory > Never Say**, and discard waiting drafts that mention it. Then ask Revnu which live posts mention it.

### How many blog posts does Revnu write?

One a day on its own, once your blog is connected. It writes extra posts only when you ask for a specific one. Ask for fewer if you prefer, or tell it to stop the daily post.

### Can I undo an edit Revnu made to a live post?

Yes, from the editor. Paste the old text back in, or tell Revnu what the passage should say and it rewrites it. Set Blog Posts to Ask Me First to review future edits before they go live.

### How do I unpublish a post?

Open it in **Visibility > Posts** and click **Delete**. The URL stops working straight away. Nothing redirects from it, so ask Revnu to remove links to it from your other posts first, and edit the post or change its URL instead if you only need to fix something.

### A post said something wrong about my product. How do I stop it happening again?

Fix the fact in **Settings > Memory > Product Facts**. Posts written from then on use it. For posts already live, ask Revnu in chat to find and correct every one that carries the old fact.

### Can Revnu write a post from my PDF?

Yes. Attach the PDF in chat, up to 10 MB, and say what angle you want. The post goes through the normal fact-check and lands in Review and **Visibility > Posts**. For a scanned PDF, paste the text in instead.

### Can Revnu write an article I don't want on my blog?

Yes. Ask for it as a file and say "don't publish it." Revnu writes and fact-checks it, then sends it into the chat as an `.mdx` file. It never goes on your blog.

### Do my own pasted posts wait before publishing?

A post you write or paste goes live the moment you click **Approve & Publish**.

### Can I remove a post's hero image?

Every post carries a hero image, and you choose it in the **Hero Image** panel: upload your own or generate a new one. Upload your own to keep AI images off the post.

### How do I stop Revnu mentioning a competitor?

Add the competitor to **Settings > Memory > Never Say**. Nothing on that list goes into a new post. Ask Revnu to find live posts that already mention them.
