Revnu does the work either way. Six switches decide whether a kind of work waits for your yes in **Review** (**Ask Me First**) or goes out on its own (**Just Do It**).

Your first sequence always waits for you. Spending money, replies to prospects, booking links, Reddit comments and gifts always wait too, whatever the switches say.

## How do I get daily outreach going without approving every email?

Approve your first sequence once. On Pro that's all it takes.

### 1. Open the sequence

Open **Leads** and pick the campaign. Click the **N Steps** pill next to the campaign picker. It says **Needs Approval** while the sequence waits for you.

### 2. Read it and approve it

Read each step. Ask Revnu in chat for changes until it reads right, then press **Approve**. With no inbox connected yet, its card in **Review** reads **Log in and Approve** and signs you in to Gmail as it approves. You can also just say yes in chat. Revnu starts the sequence for the leads on it within a few minutes.

### 3. Leave Start Sequences on Just Do It

That's the Pro default. From now on Revnu emails every lead it adds to that sequence, follow-ups included, without asking again. New sequences it writes go live on their own too.

You still see one-off emails, LinkedIn sends outside a sequence and replies to prospects, unless you switch those to Just Do It.

## How do I change what needs my approval?

### 1. Open the approval settings

Open **Settings** in the sidebar and choose the **Agent** tab. **What Needs Your Approval** is the first card.

![Settings > Agent with the What Needs Your Approval card: one row per kind of work, each with an Ask Me First or Just Do It switch on the right, and the Always Asks First box at the bottom](/docs/screens/settings-approvals.webp)

### 2. Flip a switch

On means **Just Do It**. Off means **Ask Me First**. On a computer the label beside the switch says which one is set.

The change saves the moment you flip it. Revnu follows it from the next thing it does.

Or just tell Revnu in chat. Copy one of these:

> Ask me before every LinkedIn message.

> You can send one-off emails without asking me.

Revnu changes a switch only when you ask for it in that message. It never turns one on by itself, and a scheduled task can't change one either.

> **Warning:** Switching **Blog Posts** or **One-Off Emails** to Just Do It also gives every card of that kind already waiting in Review a time to go out. Dismiss the ones you don't want first. See [what happens to cards already waiting](#what-happens-to-posts-already-waiting-when-i-switch-blog-pos).

## What does each setting cover?

| Setting | What it covers | Ask Me First | Just Do It | Default on Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Blog Posts** | Publishing new posts and editing pages that are already live | The post waits in Review until you tap **Approve & Publish**. | The post still sits in Review until the next weekday at 9am your time, at least 24 hours away, then publishes. Approve it sooner, or dismiss it to stop it. | Just Do It |
| **Start Sequences** | Launching a new sequence, or one Revnu has changed | The sequence waits. Nothing sends until you approve it. Its emails from your own Gmail or Outlook then follow One-Off Emails, so each one can wait too. | A sequence Revnu writes or rewrites goes live without asking, and its emails send without asking again. Your first sequence, and copy changes to it while it's your only approved one, still wait. | Just Do It |
| **One-Off Emails** | Emails Revnu writes outside a sequence | Each email waits for **Approve & Send**. | Revnu stops waiting for your yes. It may hold an email in Review until the next weekday at 9am (at least 4 hours) so you can still stop it. | Ask Me First |
| **Connection Requests** (LinkedIn) | Invites sent outside a sequence | Each invite waits in Review with the exact note. | Invites go out, paced to protect your account. | Ask Me First |
| **Messages** (LinkedIn) | Messages, InMail and replies sent outside a sequence | Each message waits in Review with the exact text. | Messages go out, paced. | Ask Me First |
| **Ad Tests** | Launching and swapping ads inside the test budget you approved | Revnu builds new ads paused and asks you. | Revnu launches and swaps ads inside that budget. | Ask Me First |

A sequence on Just Do It still waits when it is your account's first sequence, when it mentions something on your [Never Say list](/docs/memory), or when it uses a field Revnu has no data for.

On Managed, the starting values depend on how your account was set up. The switches always show what is set now.

## What always waits for my approval?

These wait in Review every time. No switch changes that.

- Anything that spends money or changes a budget: ad budgets, buying sending domains and inboxes, and gifts.
- Replies to prospects. Revnu drafts the reply. You send it.
- Booking links.
- Reddit comments.

The same list sits in the **Always Asks First** box at the bottom of the approval card.

## Do I have to approve every email?

No. With **Start Sequences** on Just Do It, the Pro default, you approve per sequence, not per email or per batch. Approving a sequence approves every step in it, email and LinkedIn, for every lead Revnu adds to it later. Its steps don't ask again.

Three things can still ask message by message:

- Emails outside a sequence, while **One-Off Emails** is Ask Me First
- LinkedIn invites and messages outside a sequence, while those switches are Ask Me First
- Replies to prospects, always

If you set Start Sequences to Ask Me First, LinkedIn steps of an approved sequence still send on their own. Its emails from your own Gmail or Outlook follow **One-Off Emails** instead, so with that on Ask Me First each email waits for you.

Approving doesn't lift the sending limits. On Pro, Revnu sends up to 50 emails a day and 20 an hour from each Gmail or Outlook inbox you connect, so an approved sequence goes out over hours or days. Connect more inboxes to send more. See [How many emails Revnu sends a day](/docs/email-sending-limits).

> **Tip:** Lots waiting for you? Open **Review** in the dashboard and use your keyboard: J and K move between items, Enter approves the one that's open, X dismisses it. It's the fastest way to get through a backlog. See [The Review screen](/docs/review-screen).

## How do I hand over routine sending but keep control of the risky items?

There's no "send the ones you're confident about" switch. You choose by kind of work instead. A common setup:

1. Approve your first sequence once.
2. Leave **Start Sequences** on Just Do It, so new and improved sequences go live and their steps send on their own.
3. Keep **One-Off Emails**, **Connection Requests** and **Messages** on Ask Me First, so anything written outside a sequence still comes to you.
4. Leave **Blog Posts** on Just Do It if you're happy to stop a post during its hold, and **Ad Tests** on Ask Me First until you trust the ads.

Spend, prospect replies and booking links keep waiting for you no matter what. If anything looks wrong, say "pause" and every switch goes back to Ask Me First. See [Pause or stop everything](/docs/pause-revnu).

## Questions about approvals

**Why did my first sequence wait when Start Sequences is Just Do It?**

Every account's first sequence waits for you, so you read the copy and say yes once before anything goes out in your name. Revnu shows you the first email and asks. Say yes in chat, or approve it on the **N Steps** pill as in the [steps above](#how-do-i-get-daily-outreach-going-without-approving-every-em). After you approve one sequence, Just Do It works as described for the next ones.

**Does Revnu ask again when it changes a sequence I approved?**

It depends on **Start Sequences**:

- **Ask Me First**: a rewrite of the copy waits for you again.
- **Just Do It**: the rewritten copy goes live without asking, unless it's your only approved sequence or it hits one of the cases above, such as a Never Say item. Until you have approved a second sequence, any copy change Revnu makes to the first one waits for you.

Any change to the words counts as a copy change, even adding one link or one sentence. Changing only who a sequence is for keeps your approval. When you edit a sequence yourself on its **N Steps** pill, saving it approves your version.

While a rewrite waits for you, the pill says **Needs Approval**, and nothing should send from that sequence, follow-ups to people already on it included, until you approve the new copy. Revnu should tell you when its change reset your approval. Approve the new version to start it again.

**What happens to posts already waiting when I switch Blog Posts to Just Do It?**

They get a publish time too. The moment you flip **Blog Posts** to Just Do It, every post and page edit already waiting in Review gets the same hold as a new one: it publishes at the next weekday 9am your time, at least 24 hours from the switch. The card shows that time.

Before you flip the switch, open **Review** and dismiss any waiting post you don't want live. You can also approve the ones you like straight away.

**One-Off Emails** works the same way. Switching it to Just Do It gives emails already waiting a send time, so check Review first.

**Can Revnu test new emails without asking?**

Yes, within a limit you set. When a sequence is losing, Revnu can try a new one on a small group without asking first. The limit is in **Settings > Agent > Experiment Budget**: by default each test reaches at most 50 new prospects, with up to 2 tests at once. Set **New Prospects per Test** to 0 and every new sequence waits for your approval. Your approval switches still apply to those test emails.

**Will Revnu offer to stop asking me?**

Only on some Managed accounts. On a Managed account whose switches have never been changed, Revnu may ask once, when your record clears the bar: "you've approved 12 of the last 13 posts without changes. Want me to just publish them and tell you after?" Saying yes publishes posts (or sends reviewed emails) after a business-morning hold instead of asking each time. Saying no stops it asking for a long while.

On Pro, and on any account where someone has changed a switch, there is no offer. You flip the switch yourself, or ask Revnu to. Revnu never turns one on by itself.

## What you'll see

- Work set to Ask Me First appears in **Review** and in the **Needs You** card on Home.
- Work set to Just Do It still shows its card in Review, with the time it will go out when Revnu holds it first.
- What went out is on the **Done** tab in Review.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| A switch flips back with an error | The save failed. Reload the page and try again |
| Revnu says it can't change a setting | It changes switches only when you ask in that same message. Ask again in one message, or flip the switch yourself |
| Something waited even though its switch is Just Do It | Check for a first sequence, a Never Say item, a missing field, a prospect reply, spend, a booking link or a Reddit comment. Those always wait |
| Emails aren't going out at all | See [Why aren't my emails sending?](/docs/emails-not-sending) |

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I have to approve each and every email before it is sent?

No. Your first sequence always waits for your yes. With Start Sequences on Just Do It, the Pro default, you approve a sequence once and its emails and LinkedIn steps then send to every lead on it without asking again. Emails outside a sequence, LinkedIn sends outside a sequence and replies to prospects can still ask one by one.

### What are the default approval settings on Pro?

Blog Posts and Start Sequences start on Just Do It. One-Off Emails, LinkedIn Connection Requests, LinkedIn Messages and Ad Tests start on Ask Me First. Your account's first sequence waits for you either way.

### Can I let Revnu send automatically but still check LinkedIn messages?

Yes. Each kind of work has its own switch. Leave Start Sequences on Just Do It and keep Connection Requests and Messages on Ask Me First. LinkedIn steps inside an approved sequence follow the sequence, not the two LinkedIn switches.

### Can Revnu spend money without asking me?

No. Ad budgets, buying sending domains and inboxes, and gifts always wait for your approval. With Ad Tests on Just Do It, Revnu can launch and swap ads only inside a test budget you already approved, and the ad platform bills your own ad account.

### Why did my sequence go live without me approving it?

Start Sequences was on Just Do It and it wasn't your account's first sequence. Switch Start Sequences to Ask Me First and new or rewritten sequences will wait for you. To stop sending right now, say "pause".

### If I switch Blog Posts to Just Do It, will posts already in Review go live?

Yes. Every post already waiting gets a publish time, the next weekday 9am at least 24 hours away, and goes live then unless you dismiss it. Clear out the ones you don't want before you flip the switch.

### Does asking Revnu in chat to send a LinkedIn message count as approval?

Yes. Ask Revnu to send one LinkedIn message, invite or InMail and it goes out, paced, even with Messages or Connection Requests on Ask Me First. To read it first, say so in the same message, and it waits in Review as one card.

### Can I tell Revnu to change my approval settings in chat?

Yes. Ask in one message, for example "ask me before one-off emails", and Revnu changes that switch and confirms it. It changes a switch only when you ask, never from a scheduled task or on its own judgment.

### What happens to follow-ups when a sequence needs approval again?

A rewrite of a sequence you approved puts it back to Needs Approval when Start Sequences is Ask Me First, or when it's your only approved sequence. Nothing should send from it until you approve the new copy, follow-ups to people already on it included. Adding one link or one sentence counts as a rewrite.

### How many emails go out once I approve a sequence?

On Pro, up to 50 a day and 20 an hour from each Gmail or Outlook inbox you connect. Approved emails leave gradually inside those limits. Connect more inboxes to send more. See How many emails Revnu sends a day.
