# Why Did Revnu Stop Working?

> The reasons Revnu pauses or goes quiet, from a card request on a no-card trial to a failed payment, a daily limit or a card waiting in Review, and how to fix each one.

Revnu stops for one of a handful of reasons:

Find the message you're seeing below, and the fix.

## "Add Your Card to Keep Going"

**What happened.** Your offer is a free trial that starts without a card. Revnu works until it has something to show you, then pauses until you add a card. It pauses at whichever comes first:

- A few minutes after Revnu shows you its first result: a saved lead, a written blog post or a drafted sequence. That can be within minutes of starting.
- About 30 minutes into your trial, with or without a result.

**What you see.** A full screen with **Add Your Card to Keep Going** covers the whole dashboard, chat included. Your leads, posts and sequences stay hidden behind it until a card is added. There's no way to look at them first.

**The fix.**

### 1. Press Add a Card

Press **Add a Card** and save your card on Stripe's page. You come back to the same page.

### 2. Wait for Stripe

The button shows **Confirming Card…** for a few seconds. Then the screen lifts and Revnu picks up from where it stopped.

**What it costs.** Nothing today. Your free trial carries on with the same end date, and nothing is charged before it ends. After the trial, Pro is from $99 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. See [How the free trial works](/docs/free-trial).

> **Warning:** Time spent paused still counts toward the trial, so add the card soon.

**The screen says "Revnu has made a start"**

The 30 minutes ran out before Revnu had a result. Adding a card lets it keep working toward one.

**The screen says my first results are ready**

Once the card is on, find them in **Leads** or **Visibility > Posts**. For a sequence, pick the campaign and press the steps pill next to it (for example **3 Steps**). Can't find them? Ask Revnu "what have you made so far?"

**Nothing shows after I added the card**

Email support@revnu.com. Say when you added the card and what the screen said.

**The screen still asks after I added a card**

Wait a few seconds for Stripe. If it says "Stripe hasn't confirmed your card yet", add the card again.

## "Add a card to keep Revnu working"

**What happened.** You're on a free trial with no card, and it hasn't paused yet. The banner says when you'll need one: either when the trial ends, or "Revnu asks for a card once it has shown you its first results." Add one now and it keeps going without a pause.

**The fix.** Press **Add a Card** on the banner. Nothing is charged before the trial ends.

## "Your card didn't go through" or "Revnu is paused"

**What happened.** A payment failed. You get an email straight away, and Revnu keeps working for three days while the card is retried. After that it pauses: no work, no sends, no publishing, and live ad campaigns are paused on the ad platform.

**The fix.** Use the banner at the top of the dashboard:

## "Your free trial has ended" or "Your Pro plan has ended"

**What happened.** The trial ended without a plan, or the plan was cancelled. Revnu is paused.

**The fix.** Press the button on the banner to start Pro. Revnu picks up where it stopped. See [Come back after cancelling](/docs/come-back).

## Revnu goes quiet for the rest of the day

**What happened.** On Pro, the work Revnu schedules for itself has a daily limit, reset at midnight UTC. A busy day, including a long chat with you, can reach it. Held work isn't lost. It moves to just after midnight UTC.

**The fix.** Nothing to do. Your own messages are always answered, even after the limit. Managed has no daily limit. See [Pro vs Managed](/docs/plans).

## Revnu is waiting for you in Review

**What happened.** Revnu needs a yes, an answer or a choice before it can carry on. Your first sequence, anything that spends money, and replies to prospects always wait for you. Your [approval settings](/docs/approvals) decide what else waits.

**The fix.** Open **Review** and answer the cards. Revnu usually reminds you once about a card that's been waiting a day or so. Approval cards you leave for a week expire. Questions stay until you answer them.

## Revnu stopped what it was doing when I messaged it

**What happened.** While Revnu is replying to you, a new text joins the work it's on. A message with a file attached, or one from a teammate, stops the current reply instead. While Revnu is doing scheduled work, such as its daily session, any message from you comes first and the scheduled work stops.

**The fix.** Usually nothing. Scheduled work runs again straight after Revnu answers you. Long lead searches run in the background and aren't stopped by chat.

## Revnu isn't messaging me any more

## You said "pause"

Saying "pause", "stop sending" or "ask first" holds sends and cancels email still waiting to go out. Revnu keeps working and drafting. To start sending again, tell it. See [Pause or stop everything](/docs/pause-revnu).

## Frequently asked questions

### Why did Revnu stop and ask for my card?

Your offer is a no-card free trial that pauses a few minutes after Revnu shows you its first result, or about 30 minutes in. Press **Add a Card** and it picks up straight away. Nothing is charged before your trial ends, and the end date doesn't change.

### I added my card and there's nothing there. What now?

Ask Revnu in chat "what have you made so far?" and check **Leads** and **Visibility > Posts**. If nothing shows, email support@revnu.com with when you added the card and what the screen said.

### Can I see my results before I add a card?

Everything Revnu made is there as soon as you add a card and Stripe confirms it, and adding a card charges nothing today. Until then, the card screen covers the whole dashboard, including your leads, posts, sequences and the chat.

### Will I be charged as soon as I add my card?

No. On a free trial, adding a card charges nothing that day. You're charged for the first month only when the trial ends, and not at all if you cancel before then in **Settings > Account**. Pro is from $99 a month.

### What happens if my payment fails?

You get an email, and Revnu keeps working for three days while your card is retried. Then it pauses until the payment goes through. Use **Try My Card Again**, **Pay Another Way** or **Approve Payment** on the dashboard banner, and everything picks up where it stopped.

### Why is Revnu not answering me?

If you're paused for a card or a payment, Revnu won't work until it's sorted. Check the dashboard for a banner. Otherwise, check that Revnu is still in your Slack channel or that your iMessage number is right in **Connections**. Your messages are never held by the daily limit.

### Does Revnu have a daily limit?

Your own messages are always answered. On Pro, the work Revnu schedules for itself has a daily limit, and held work runs just after midnight UTC. Managed has no limit.
